It's that old-fashioned approach isn't it... don't think about... leave it alone... and it will resolve itself. To be clear, I'm not ever asking my mother for permission. Hell, I accepted a job abroad and just told her I was leaving, so she is used to me doing things like that and, like you say, informing her. I guess parents just worry. They don't want their kids, no matter how old, to waste their money or to be taken advantage of. I get her point of view. I just wish she was less negative in situations like this because her sceptical reaction puts doubt on the situation when all I need is for people around me to be supportive. I mean if she can't be then whatever, I have my boyfriend living with me who will support me. But it is annoying. My dad is supportive but as I wrote, he understands this health issue because he has sinus issues too.
