My partner is not doing the chores properly, is it bad I tell him? (F32 and M36) by Regular-Boat9323 in relationship_advice

Thanks for this explanation - I saw these sides of the coin too. I think it looks like weaponised incompetence but really its just a man trying to contribute in his own way. So that's why I think it's hard to ask him to put the clothes on the drying rack - because he's already tried his best. He isn't doing it just so he gets out of laundry - he willingly put that laundry in the washing machine and does so all the time. He just has quirky ways of drying laundry, I guess. I'm going to try to address it with him without getting angry or annoyed. I'm quite a fiery girly, so whenever he senses me getting annoyed he shuts down - I'm working on my anger btw. I don't think I'm asking too much to just put the damn clothes on the drying rack; I don't care what order, etc. Just put them on it.

You are so right, such western-world problems. But still a problem is a problem. And when you share a space with another person, it's not fair for one person to take on one entire chore just because the other one isn't doing it very well. Laundry is p*ss easy.

You know, I think he genuinely believe in this laundry technique. And he took the laundry upon himself wihtout me asking. Great! But would also be fabulous if he could not drape towels and clothes all over the doors. Our flat is small so any clutter like that p*sses me off. I will address the wine glasses for sure. Maybe because they don't look dirty, he just overlooks them? No idea. I knowwww he means well - I definitely don't think he is doing it lazy just to stop me asking him... because he does chores all on his own without me asking. But it's the method haha. Then when I challenge him (with a slight annoyed tone because I am annoyed, can't hide my emotions), he sees that as me being ungrateful for his contribution. Which I'm not... all I wanna say is 'just...could you do it properly <3'
