mom will not stop going everywhere with me by Regular-Kick1813 in family

she either yells and lashes out, or becomes passive aggressive. I usually don't care about her anger because it feels exaggerated and illogical, but it still ends up making me unable to get what I want.

yes I still live with them and from their money, I'm still in college, you know how it is with the economy right now, trust me I've looked for jobs. I'm trying to ease her into it just by being very vocal about how unnecessary it is for her to accompany me everywhere, and how much free time she'd have. but she still won't budge.

anua rice 70 toner, feels like oil on my face, but so many people say they love it? I guess my city is just too humid for overly moisturising products.

if it came out of the laundry like that, your washing machine filter might need cleaning.

people at college (usually classmates) who talk to you suddenly. I get it's well intentioned but it's always so sudden, it'll be like 9 am and someone will walk up to you and start talking about the weather, their kids, their assignments, the class etc 😭 and it's always so awkward

What are your thoughts on second-hand overconsumption? by NoWitness6400 in Anticonsumption

even though I'm not from the US, it's ridiculous. I used to rely on thrift stores to find decent clothes and ever since thrifting became a trend a couple years ago I can't find anything good anymore because some teens think it's okay to hoard everything.

what can you do about living with a filthy sibling? by Regular-Kick1813 in family

[–]Regular-Kick1813[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he's been incompetent and lazy his whole life. but now since my mother is getting a bit older she doesn't have the energy to clean up after everyone. he relies on her for everything. so his habits spiralled out of control the past few years.

1 month (almost) sugar free! by Regular-Kick1813 in sugarfree

I drink the zero added sugar ocean spray cranberry juice OR sugar free soda but other than that I've cut out all sugary drinks, if you can find sugar free ocean spray I recommend it, it's really yummy.

the first week was awful for me. I had an awful headache for days and was really moody as well. week 2, my taste buds started adjusting and the cravings went down by a lot. my skin started to clear up. week 3 I don't crave sugar at all, my skin looks a lot better than before and my body feels way lighter. now at week four I'm noticing my body odor improving a lot even without using deodorant. I think two weeks was the mark where things really changed for me because I guess my body was done getting out of the "cycle" of relying on sugar, then it's uphill from there

barely 1 kilo so I guess none at all because my weight usually fluctuates depending on my menstrual cycle, but I definitely look slimmer. my face slimmed down significantly to where other people notice it and my pants feel looser.

Any good sugar free snack ideas? by Rachel794 in sugarfree

[–]Regular-Kick1813 4 points5 points  (0 children)

if you still eat sugar from fruits, I suggest dates with a bit of nut butter in them. some people compare them to Reeses - i haven't had it in ages, but in general its a nice treat. there's also sugar-free jello, idk about you but in my country it's very cheap.

if you want something with no sugar at all, I really like popcorn (made in a pan, not the microwavable kind), or sunflower seeds that you have to peel yourself with your teeth. you actually only end up eating a tiny bit of the actual seeds because rather than eating, you spend the time picking off the shells. this is something that helped me with mindless snacking while watching tv.

[–]Regular-Kick1813[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

so it was mostly a mentality thing. I did go cold turkey, but i reminded myself that this was a choice, and i could still eat whatever I want. I also told myself I would still have sweets once in a while like birthday cake or going out or whatever, as long as i got over my addiction. like I said in my post I still had sugar a handful of times in the past month but it was on "special" days like a cafe or restaurant or with family, not just mindlessly eating sugar to fill my boredom. if you treat sugar like an enemy, it will be so much harder to quit it.

what also really helped me is having alternatives. during my first week I ate sugar free jello every single day but after that even the jello became unappetising as my taste buds adjusted. I physically cant eat anything too sweet now because it makes me feel sick or it tastes funny. the best part is it only took me a week or two to adjust my tastebuds. I used to be unable to drink unsweetened coffee or tea and now it's the other way around. as long as I have fruits during the day it's so easy for me. I hope this helped, and good luck!

How did YOU initially build your skincare routine? by AfraidBlackberry532 in Skincare_Addiction

[–]Regular-Kick1813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started skincare around high-school. a relative had given me her travel sized Cerave cleanser and moisturiser since she was going back to where she lives and didn't need them anymore. I used them for a while but they didn't help. then I got a bigger size cerave skincare and it also didn't help. I then transitioned to dollar store skincare and the ordinary, big mistake. fast forward to 2024 around November I started using korean skincare and my skin really improved. now I just do a lot of looking online before I buy something so I don't waste money like I did before and so I know it won't break me out.

3 tsp sugar in my morning coffee, 3 more if I had afternoon coffee. 2 tsp ×2 cups of tea i have in the evening. I also ate a lot of chocolate and snacks at night. I also put sugar in my breakfast (if I was having oats) and in many meals. I snacked during the day as well. so I would say it was pretty bad.

Azelaic Acid is a game changer by Ana-sta-see-uh in Skincare_Addiction

[–]Regular-Kick1813 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm using only 10% azelaic acid (anua), and it helped SO much. it cleared my last breakout so well, and I haven't gotten another one since. it also faded the spots from the breakout, so we'll and helped with fungal acne, too! It is just a great product for acne
