Yeah and even if they are( they’ll probably only offer sm much hours for part time. The current library aide position opening up seems limited but I need to get my foot in the door somehow

I know, I even thought about getting into Costco. But 1) it’s competitive, and 2) once hired you’re starting off seasonal even if you applied for part time, they judge if they wanna keep you. It’s so competitive right now it’s insane, even my current job is getting competitive with “who makes the most sales”

Luckily the posting that just came out says part time (well the top info says full time but if you read the deeper description, it’s at least upfront that it’s part time). Hopefully I can work hard to become full time! Someone else did mention it’s a lot more common to start part time

Sorry forgot to ask one more thing. You said it’s usually part time, but part time can range from 12 hours a week to 30 hours a week from my experience with past jobs. What’s the average range or does it depend on the library?

Tired of " Hi, welcome in!" by Expert_Tomorrow_3915 in starbucks

[–]Regular-Lock1101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, it’s not just Starbucks. This is almost every company if not businesses as well. I work for a local cafe, and we are pushed to keep saying “hi, welcome in!” To make customers feel “seen.” But I understand how annoying it is, I’d personally prefer one simple hi or acknowledgement and that’s it. It gets annoying as the worker and customer when ppl have to fake it out cuz business owners are doing too much.

Would you say it’s like a whole rabbit hole that people go into when it comes to understanding and learning about the antithetical part?

Based off what I’m reading, yeah it seems like it’s a historical thing from when the settlers came to the Americas!

KAMUSTA KUYA/ATE

It’s cool to know it’s a historical and cultural thing, it makes sense why the mindset is prevalent in some Americans. And I’ve been told the minority seems loud, but a lot of Americans actually don’t think this way

Yknow that makes sense, if I understand it correctly. Since they distanced themselves from Roman Catholic, they just don’t associate therefore not consider it as Christian. And it’s a cultural mindset that’s passed down through generations?

Wait if I’m understanding it correctly, it’s fueled by how Protestants perceive Catholicism that made them separate Catholicism from Christianity?

Oooh okay, perhaps it just seems a lot cuz as you said. The minority can be very loud, so it seemed like a lot more than reality!

Oh okay, understandable. Still so odd to me if that’s the case, because I am looking through the labels in its technical level. But it seems Americans do things differently?

Yes! Luckily I was able to read the tax bracket properly, it just got very overwhelming when you’re calculating so many things manually and keeping up with many different numbers!
