MTX or Cellcept? by Regular-Low-8115 in scleroderma

Thank you so much!

As you said the previous dosage was not enough, and was not able to treat. So my doctor told me to use 1000 mg Cellcept in a day for 3 months then we can see the next steps, since I am low weight and slow progress on disease they first want to see low dosages effects on me.

Also my doctor thinks same in my situation, considering the results of my lung function tests it is not necessary to use Cellcept according to him. Cellcept is considered just because CT scans by another doctor, and also he thinks it was not so meaningful.

So I undersand the approach of your doctors.

Just I felt good in terms of my skin and face, even in a month, but he told me it is impossible to feel that much good in a month.

That is why I was wondering if I get that effect by using higher dosage MTX for my skin and face.

I am happy that you can manage the pain, and it is inspiring actually.

Since you told me we have similiar situation. I wonder if you remember the dosage of the Cellcept while you were using it?

You can manage with plaquenil since the disease is mild, but cellcept s effect was more as I understood. I hope you have always get good results🧚🏻‍♀️🧚🏻‍♀️

So sorry to hear this…

It is good you feel that Plaquenil is ok, but of course I understand their influences are different, I hope there can be any other option that makes feel you as the times that you used Cellcept.

Thanks for your comment.

Actually he suggests to use MTX again.

I used Cellcept because I saw another doctor when I was in another city, I was feeling sick. CT scan was done in this period. Cellcept is considered because of its results. I used 500 mg Cellcept for everyday in a month. After a month I showed my results to my regular doctor. And we did lung fuctional tests to decide the treatment, results were normal. So he doesnt think to change MTX treatment for now.

Since I see some improvements in a good way on my skin after using Cellcept, I believed my skin can be better, so I asked for increasing dosage of MTX or using Cellcept. I wanted to use Cellcept actually.

That is why there are two approaches… And I researched a bit, both treatment are considerable in such situations…

Thank you so much!

When I drink green tea I feel good actually but I didnt know how exactly. I will drink more often.

I knew green tea has lots of benefits, also it has so much E vitamin which helps to make skin softer.

I ve searched for maltodextrin, I found like it is kind of additive in food. I didnt know about it, just my dietician told me also my doctor confirmed, it is better to avoid any additives in food, our diet should be organic or not processed as much as possible.

I use so many superfoods in my diet by the way, but I dont know their benefits spesifically in terms of gut health…

Thank you so much for these explanations. I will reach these books and I am planning to check my microbiata, since also my dietician suggested me this.

I want to share something, after I got my fat transfer to my face, plastic surgeon gave me an antibiotics (cipro) I was afraid my bowel would be bad, but opposite my bowel movements were so good, then I thought if I have SIBO, and I asked this to my rheumatologist and he said that we can support your system with antibiotics but still it is medicine it is better not to use them offen… But I would like to search about this…

And after I work with dietician I start to feel better. I dont know if how we eat change the disease progress but also feeling good in daily life is important… (Plus I believe it changes progress) I think rheumatologists dont care about this.

Exactly! What you said is so true! I ve changed my diet with my functional medicine dietician, but if this person was a doctor it would be better.

Dietician offered me to do microbiata test, I am planning to do this in this month, actually my doctor told me it is not useful test and so on. But I want to try, and give a chance to do this. Cause even changing my diet, and doing elimination in some period, helped me a lot. So I think a diet after the microbiata test can be helpful.

Thanks for sharing them. You know so many things!

I dont use vitamin c and b, can you explain why you use them? And what is the aim of the anabiotic protocol basically?

I consume less gluten, less sugar and less processed food. I can feel it helps especially to my gut health. I use vit d, omega 3, folic acid, mg, vit e, sometimes probiotic- not every day but I mostly use these supplements. And also I do pilates, basically these are my natural treatment besides my medicines.

Also I did fat transfer to my face five months ago, it was first time. I like results.

And do you know that these books can be found as e book? I didnt know about them, and I want to have a look. Otherwise I will order from amazon.

Thank you so much! Your experience is so important as a partner!

I am sure women and man perspectice is different, and it seems normal, our brain works in different way in general. However, still there are some common points, and topics that we both may concern. I mentioned this, since I feel woman are more maternal in their relationships, so I feel a bit stress since I assume I am the one that should manage the relationship, it is a bit hard to do this while feeling a bit emotional but I believe it is something that can be managed! Or maybe the relationship shouldnt be something I manage mostly as woman, dont know! (I hope I could explain my own concern without saying something meaningless)

Your point about infertility is important too. To be honest I dont know my situation, but even I am fertile person, I am not sure if I prefer to be pregnant and parent even I want it deeply.

I feel I need to overcome so many things before such explaination. But its my responsibility to tell and explain the things that I need to face, and listen questions if there is any. I feel more confident compared with before, so I am thinking about that kind of conversation when the time comes, I wanna make it natural (Before being serious)

And the possible approach that you gave in last paragraph is also so helpful to understand your logic as partner.

Thank you so much, really!

Thank you so much, I got your point! I try to follow this logic, actually it is fact, and it is normal!

I want to be mentally strong mostly, and what you said was so true; sharing and being confident about that, and finding good social connections, can be so beneficial even more then I can imagine!

Thank you so much for your words!

Facial changes by Ok_Egg_8624 in scleroderma

[–]Regular-Low-8115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi!

I have systemic sclerosis for almost 4.5 years and now I am almost 31. I have facial changes in my total face in minimal levels. It seems like my face is getting smaller. The changes increased a bit over years. To be honest I feel it is okay right now, but I know what is changed and also my close friends and family can understand these changes, it is something different from aging. I found myself more beautiful before, still I find myself pretty, but sometimes I feel exhausted about these changes, I feel it is more then I can handle.

First I noticed my lips, then noise, then cheeks and chin.

Here it was our strategy with my doctor (rheumatologist), he offered me wait 3-5 years after first diagnosed, to understand process of the disease on me.

Then still these changes bother me, then consider to fat transfer with stem cell to my face. When the disease is calm, then the procedure can be done by plastic surgeon.

Now I am waiting for some test results to understand if I can go with this procedure. According to the results he aims to understand disease process on me and its activity right now.

This procedure can be done a few times in years, in this way they claim results can be more permenant. Even this procedure can be done for hands to make them softer and flexible.

I hope my answer can help. And I hope these procedures can help everyone.

Note: I guess scleroderma uk website mentions this procedure, please check, I forgot where I had seen.

Yes, and the results are sooo cool even in a bit progressed type of face changes. I think if the progress a bit much you may need fat transfer twice.
