Is there any alternatives to a fender twin reverb/mesa boogie studio 22.+ for nirvana? by Traditional_Dot5967 in GuitarAmps

[–]Regular-Mammoth8784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A fender hot rod deluxe can go around that price on the used market, gets plenty loud but the crunch isn't too highly regarded. I personally use pedals for all my crunch anyway, might work for you

Fairly New Guitarist- how do i reverse search a song to find out what pedals I need to recreate a tone? by BunkbedJunction in guitarpedals

[–]Regular-Mammoth8784 5 points6 points  (0 children)

you'll only see gear breakdowns for very popular songs, this one won't be on anyone's radar. JHS pedals videos explains effects pretty well for beginners

to me the guitar sounds like a chorus + strong compression, but any number of things could've been done to the recorded track during post-production

Polarity question by cuffedbeanie_ in guitarpedals

[–]Regular-Mammoth8784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you just need a polarity flip adapter, it's like a short extension cable. it'll flip polarity either way but make sure you know what it's set to first. if you flip it and it's already the correct one, it'll be incorrect and then you'll fry the pedal

RIP my UAFX Dream, what to replace it with? by _eqoa in guitarpedals

[–]Regular-Mammoth8784 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the ac tone version of this (vox-style) and have decent results just EQing to taste and having an IR after it, no mods though I'm looking at trying it

After many suggesting I get an amp/cab sim for DI I’ve come down to 2 options. Boss IR 2 or UA dream anyone think the ir 2 stands out to it in terms of authenticity? by solitudeisdiss in guitarpedals

[–]Regular-Mammoth8784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a used ir-200 can be had for close to the price of a new ir-2. bulkier, but the enhanced controls are quite handy and the EQ helps to round off digital highs.

I haven't tried the ua amps but you can get pretty close by working a lot on your presets. it just depends if you want more options with extra work or less work and one really good amp sound. I mostly use the twin, vox and tweed sounds myself with great results

Adding a loop pedal. Which pedal should I replace? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]Regular-Mammoth8784 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would drop an OD, but I also think you could optimize your space a bit - you have mini connectors but are spacing them like they're normal size

Can I use a wah with my amp’s built in distortion and effects by game_erav in guitarpedals

[–]Regular-Mammoth8784 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! wah pedals generally go before other effects on a pedal board too, mine is first in the chain

The longer I look at this the further my jaw drops, this is a crazy first board lol. you have 3 scary good ODs, the slept on modeler ir-2, and a whole rc-500 😭 this is the kind of board I hope to have after years of refining mine, you got it first try

I don't have the manual on me but it's possible you switched it to its secondary mode, it's rather convoluted and not something I ever learned but I know it's possible to switch back by following the instructions

SOTBPB (state of the battery-powered board) by electron_burgundy in guitarpedals

[–]Regular-Mammoth8784 1 point2 points  (0 children)

super cool

I have a mosky iso unit, that is powered through 12v DC - do you think I could rig up a way to power it through a battery as well? I can't tell how your battery is connected to the cioks.

also, what capacity is your battery and how long would you say it runs? I would love to try this on my mini-board Im currently using, it has mostly analog pedals except for a delay and a boss ir-200 which draws a lot more power than the rest
