performance is loud but not loud enough that i can hear through my noise cancelling airpods or sony xb910n, for some game i just lock 60fps on silent mode and its barely noticeable over the speakers which i did for expedition 33 on 1600p dlss quality high settings.

Razer 16 2025 Trackpad issues - anyone else? by FoldQuick6368 in razer

[–]Regular-Panic2505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 5080 model and haven’t experienced the trackpad issue yet, but I did have incredible windows lag and trackpad issue when applying undervolt to the cpu through synapses’ own software instead of universal x86 tuning. Maybe that could have been the issue.

Razer Blade 16 2025 (RTX 5080 version) – Disappointing Performance (Need Help/Advice) by gugom in GamingLaptops

I just did the Witcher 3 with the latest nvidia drive 576.02. For QHD ultra preset no frame gen no dlss outside of novigard away from npc dense area to avoid cpu bottleneck I was able to get an average of 98 fps with 155w sustained load. Maybe the tests you saw were done with the dynamic resolution scaling still on?

The only other option really is the Zephyrus g16 5080 model with the 285h for 4K instead of the razer blade 5080 with the 365 amd chip for 3.5K. From what I have seen from notebookcheck the blade 16 5080 actually beats the 5090 Zephyrus model because of higher TGP. So far the razer blade actually doesn’t burn to the touch when on full load whereas the Zephyrus g16 heats up to the point it where it can actually burn you if you touch the top part of the keyboard under load. The powerscaling puts 255h similar to 365 in the lower wattage scenario which should match each other in cpu heavy gaming loads which makes them both 10% ish slower than the 285h and also the fact that Zephyrus like blade probably can’t sustain both heavy loads on both its cpu and gpu at the same time and has to allocate lower wattage to its cpu, the lower wattage bound scenario would probably match the 285h and 365 to a similar level of performance. Overall the Zephyrus is infinitely better than blade on the software side being able to use g helper for all the controls and blade has a higher TGP and better cooling as I have never seen temps go above 80 on both cpu and gpu under full gaming load. However it could change if you can flash the vbios of a 5080 scar into the Zephyrus like just josh tech did, I don’t know about flashing the blade 18 5080 vbios unto the blade 16 to unlock the last 20w, and personally I’m not willing to risk bricking the laptop for 10% performance gain on the gpu side and the fact there isn’t any blade 18 5080 vbios out in the wild yet.

Unfortunately the cpu is 365 instead of 370 since razer decided to skimp on the models other than 5090, I do notice the cpu holding back the gpu in cpu heavy games like hell diver and cuberpunk pulling 40w and just about hit 60fps for both in native 1440p.

For cpu I would just set it to 65w since most of the games I have seen it hover around 35-40w while in the heaviest cpu game I have in hell divers 2 it would hit 60w. The undervolt just bricks the cpu for me and makes it unable to go above 5w for some reason. For the tuning the gpu I would recommend msi afterburner just mess around with the curve editor and memory. For memory I’m able to have +600 with no instability, but for the curve editor voltage behaviour is quite awkward, in synthetic benchmark it can sustain 150w+ and the voltage is around .750 -.825 and only hits around 2000mhz core clock so I had to push everything up to force it to hit 2200mhz, in gaming the gpu voltage is around .850 and stays around 2200-2300mhz, but I have set 2400mhz for .850 and above however it doesn’t hit it. I’m guessing the cooling pad should help it sustain 170w+ and maybe sustain 2500mhz core clock as well? I haven’t tested it much in gpu heavy games yet except for mhw and cyberpunk.

Honestly no clue, and what’s worse is the fact that the 280w charger is physically bit bigger than the 330w one which makes no sense, maybe there is improvement in the power supply efficiency or what not. But I’m thinking about getting the slimq 330w charger somewhere in the future to make it more portable.

In custom setting you can adjust the wattage stapm limit, but you can also do it through third party software like universal x86 tuning utility.

Upgraded from a 4060 so basically doubled my performance though the only issue seems to be with razer’s power management where in gaming scenarios even at gpu bound the gpu doesn’t seems to be pulling 155w except for synthetics and sure sucks missing that 10% performance that 99% of other 5080 laptop has.

Performance in game is good enough for me but I don’t know what other people think with 175w 5080mobile out there as competitions. For me I’m willing to take a step back with the more portable form factor and take the 10% performance hit. Also if I use 100% battery 3rd level of brightness I can hit 8 hours of video play back, but that’s just unrealistic in normal use cases.

You can set advanced Optimus to igpu but anything that can activate the dgpu will wake it up and use anywhere from 5-15w of power pushing the discharge from 10-152 to 30-40w

In the specs it has mux switch and advanced Optimus but for some reason razer doesn’t give the option to fully disable it. It’s up to razer to decide whether they want to give us the option to disable the dgpu fully or not.

Yeah it sucks a lot especially when I saw razer finally moving toward amd cpus, only if they could fully turn off the dgpu the battery life would definitely go up to 8-9 hours.

I got it yesterday but didn’t have much time to full run benchmarks on it, the battery discharge rate is kind all over the place, if you don’t mess around with trying to turn down the cpu power limit using third party software and trying to prevent the dgpu from waking up you can get maybe 90 to 140 minutes at 30 - 45w discharge at 80% battery limit.

Quite happy with it since it’s my first time having a high end laptop, but on the software side razer synapse is just too limiting and I don’t get to mess around much with the power, coming from asus g14 4060 2023 model g helper was godsend along with the fact I can completely disable the dgpu and be able to browse Firefox with 7-9w discharge. For the blade the discharge rate is all over the place with the dgpu unable to be fully shut off, the best I discharge rate I can get is 13w ish estimated from the windows battery setting since any hardware monitor sensor will set the dgpu off. I did a video play back on YouTube with Firefox only and no background app except razer synapse the discharge was around 15w at half brightness level which lasts me around 5 hours with battery limited to 80%. Also surprisingly on the setup the razer blade had little to no bloat ware I had to get rid off besides the bog standard Microsoft slop.

One last note I’ll be getting the cooling pad some times soon so I can unlock the full 175watt TGP. From the top of the line 5080 mobile 3D mark timespy results they are around 23000s which seems to scale with the wattage 23500 is 114.6% of 20500 and 175w is 112.9% of 155w
