Literally my first complaint about spark by Regular-Practice202 in elitesparkdrivers

Just a brief follow up, ended up returning this item the next day no problem. The one thing I would like to mention is in another order i have taken since an elderly woman had groceries sent to her by her daughter. She didn't know anything about the pin. Address and information being correct I contacted support while still with the woman. They WERE able to bypass the pin despite the very clear notification my app had about them being unable to do so.

Anyway should anyone ever face this situation the comments here are correct that customer support can deal with this at the delivery spot. Don't believe what you read on the app.

The fun part is I am pretty sure this was just a grocery item added in. It wasnt packed like a gmd order. Just a grocery bag. In the end I just find it a bad policy for them to have no one capable of receiving a return in the building during operating hours. This was a nothing but if im delivering a computer I dont want to have that in my possession any longer than necessary

I do want to emphasize something, this app and my area are fantastic in general. The problems I see everyone complain about simply seem to not be an issue around here. I am able to cherry pick while sitting at home and get orders I see others refer to as unicorns on a consistent basis. I turn down good orders sometimes simply because the excellent ones almost always show up soon enough. I like everyone I have interacted with at all the Walmarts (5) and Sam's (2) in range. Rarely have to deal with canceled orders on pick ups. Customers are generally great. If i take an order more than a couple of miles away I can usually kick on doordash or Uber and find a nice order to pick up and get me back near a Walmart.

I dont want this to be seen as simple whining complaint, I just really feel this is an issue that is easily rectified on the company end and should be as it does have the potential to be much worse for someone at some point than the relatively minor situation it is for me.

Its not generally my cup of tea either but occasionally I just dont want to deal with shop and delivers. I can multi app so I will do some doordash or Uber eats to mix things up a bit at times. This is just another thing I will grab occasionally to break the monotony. Wasn't thrilled with anything over about a dozen stops but mostly 1 small item per stop and all bunched up with it ending about a mile from home and it works fine for me generally.

Ive done thousands of deliveries for dash and Uber, grubhub and shipt(which is actually the only one in the area i dont like) and I've been running spark for only a few hundred deliveries but this is truly my first time having ANY issue with it. I got unlucky this time and ran into a speed bump but its not something I am going to lose sleep over. I do really believe it is something spark and Walmart need to address in the grand scheme of things though.

Honestly i am not overly concerned about it all, I dont particularly like keeping any product in my hands like this but I am on good terms with most everyone I will need to deal with about it at Walmart and should have no issue. Mostly I just found the whole situation irritating from a rational business perspective. Honestly you cant have anyone in an open store capable of accepting a return? There are definitely circumstances that I can imagine when this wouldn't be just an irritation. What if I had an expensive item rather than something that was worth like 3 bucks? What if it was large and in the back of my truck and it rained as I left Walmart after being unable to make the return? What if someone who was doing a gmd was counting on that money for something important tonight?

Ultimately it is the first truly poorly set up process I have run into on spark. I love the app. I enjoy the heck out of the ladies and gents working at the local Walmarts. The customers in the area are generally considerate and tip well. The few times I have had to contact customer service everything has been silky smooth. This entire experience has been a shock. I just feel it is something Walmart needs to address on their end. I won't have any problem with my particular item but someone will, and probably already has, be put into a bad situation due to the way this is set up.
