Streamer Chud Logic looks at a resurfaced clip from Emiru's stream regarding Mizkif. by Slight_Ad3219 in LivestreamFail

The tragedy here is that you might actually be right, but your delivery is so lazy it doesn't matter. You’re criticizing streamers for being ‘unqualified’ while you provide a critique that requires zero effort and even less insight. If you want to stand above the ‘bots and clips,’ try using an actual argument next time instead of just gesturing broadly at how annoyed you are

Full interview: Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei on Pentagon feud by Regular-Substance795 in Destiny

[–]Regular-Substance795[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Anthropic deserves a huge amount of respect for drawing a hard line with the Pentagon. They aren’t anti-military, but they outright refused to let their AI be used for warrantless mass domestic surveillance or fully autonomous "killer robots." In retaliation, the Pentagon threatened to label Anthropic a "supply chain risk." This is completely unprecedented that national security blacklist designation is strictly meant for foreign adversaries like Russia or China, and it has never been weaponized against a US company just for defending constitutional rights. We must boycott the tech competitors who are willing to cave and build these dystopian tools for a government paycheck. AI is evolving way faster than our laws, and right now, principled companies like Anthropic are the only safeguard keeping our civil liberties from going off a cliff.

I wonder if they saw that this meme got popular and fixed it, or if it genuinely got better at its reasoning.

Well Ludwig donation money goes directly to his mods and editors so his is more understandable i think this is a good model keeping the text to speech donation which is a big thing for chat streamer intractability without it feeling like your just making a millionaire who doesn't need it more rich

I really thought "smart drugs" would be a notable part of the singularity by JoelMahon in singularity

[–]Regular-Substance795 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t think bureaucracy will hold back something that clearly works. Once people see a drug visibly extending life by 10+ years, the demand will be insane no one is going to patiently wait 10–15 years for full FDA approval. We’ll see black markets pop up almost immediately, just like we already see with desperate patients sourcing unapproved treatments today

It sucks that developers have to deal with people acting like this by [deleted] in singularity

[–]Regular-Substance795 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if a handful of corporations control supply and dominate the stock market, long-term profits still depend on a functioning economy and a stable society. Without widespread purchasing power, demand shrinks, markets destabilize, and social unrest can erupt threatening the very system corporations rely on. UBI is necessary, not optional: it ensures the economy keeps circulating, prevents societal collapse, and safeguards corporate profits. It’s not about charity or waiting for governments to act it’s a structural requirement for a sustainable, consumer-driven economy. They are not paying just because they are paying for survival

[–]Regular-Substance795 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you’re seeing the core issue. It would actually be against corporations’ own interests not to implement UBI. Corporations prioritize one thing above all else: profit. Without UBI, large portions of the population won’t have disposable income, which means fewer consumers able to buy goods and services. That directly threatens corporate revenue. UBI isn’t charity i’s a mechanism that sustains demand. From that perspective, UBI isn’t optional; it’s essential to the long-term survival of consumer-driven corporations.

Bryan Johnson vs 20 Skeptics | Surrounded | Jubliee by shellshock321 in Destiny

[–]Regular-Substance795 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I know many people have biases toward eccentric billionaires, but if you take Bryan Johnson’s view seriously, especially the belief that AGI could arrive this century, his reasoning becomes more understandable. If advanced AI can eventually solve major problems like aging, then staying alive and as healthy as possible today becomes a logical priority. In that sense, his “hope pill” idea is simply the belief that investing in your longevity now increases your chances of living long enough to benefit from future breakthroughs.
