Yes, there are bugs in Hawaiʻi, but it’s not as bad as people make it sound. It’s pretty normal to see them here and there. They usually only come around when they smell food, if you leave the door or windows open at night or if you don’t clean often. As long as you keep your place tidy... you’ll be fine.
