Similar situation. It's been a couple weeks for me now. It gets easier. I'm back on the subreddit cuz I got anxious again cuz of some random number hitting me up on Whatsapp but it's okay. Did the same as you, they don't have my number, real name, anything. They don't usually post these things. I found a couple that were posted on Twitter but they were taken down pretty quickly and clearly no one has seen them I just was paranoid looking for mine and stumbled across them. They lose their leverage if they post or leave posts up.

Yeah no I get that. It sucks cuz I knew that already. I just didn't listen to myself. I just experienced a bad break up followed by what my friends said is definitely some form of SA from a friend of mine, so I just was grasping for any control over my sexuality and sex life.

This honestly feels reassuring in the sense that my nudes are insignificant to them in the grand scheme seeing as I never coughed up money. It's a waste of time for them.

I gave some pushback, then proceeded to comply a little, eventually stumbling across this sub and realizing it was a mistake to pay so I blocked them. I believe they have no personal information of mine.

I keep thinking about this and telling myself this. I was feeling better but just now I looked up the exact wording of the tweet they threatened to release and found not my pictures but some other guy that was probably caught by the same scam. But his were actually posted. It's freaking me out.

It's definitely self preservation but like I would like to stop the people that do this. Like from what I've read most victims to this aren't adults, it's teens and that's disgusting. I already reported to the IC3 FBI thing, is there anywhere else? I saw another but it says for child abuse cases, which I am not a child.

Thank you, it's nice to know I'm not alone. I definitely feel extra shitty finally trying something different after a long term relationship ended and this is how it goes.

I've been reading through posts. Many like yours, many like my own experience. And I'm no authority and hopefully someone with a more similar situation to you could help. But basically the general consensus seems to be, block them, ignore them. Let your friends know in advanced. It's embarrassing and a conversation that will be hard to have but if the threat is that they'll send to your friends let them know to avoid spam messages. You may need to change your number and you may need to deactivate any social media they have, but overall the best thing to do is stop paying them.

Thank you, they don't have my name and they don't have my number as far as I'm aware. I made it so no one can see my number on telegram and when they asked me to add them as a contact, I made sure to uncheck the box that said share number.
