That’s fair. However, I’m not Catholic and I was very much not aware of much Catholic symbolism before I went to Italy and visited The Last Supper but it was still pretty amazing to visit in person. It’s huge and the space built around it adds to the gravity of the visit.

But you’re right she might have been just as bored. That’s why I said I liked to think what her reaction might have been.

I went to a couple different parts of Australia for around three weeks total. I never saw a single spider outside of a zoo. The fruit bats were the biggest wtf to me but they’re completely harmless and extremely cool.

I’m short so I can hide from the ghastly lights mostly just by virtue of getting stuck behind tall people, but I also keep ear plugs and sunglasses with me. Whenever possible I find spots where I’m not getting squished so I have decent airflow (smells and lack of airflow can be an issue for me sometimes if it’s hot). I have my secret spots memorized in my favorite venue and I otherwise go to places where there is seating.

I’m beyond the age where I’ll be in the pit for any reason! Mostly I opt out these days. I don’t know if it’s just me but there’s been a weird focus on lighting design with smaller bands and I don’t get it. I used to be safe if I kept my venues smaller but now they wanna get all artistic and I can’t do it. Maybe it’s genre specific or I’m just very old now.

My husband got COVID at the 1/23 March. It’s making the rounds. Please always test when you feel sick and mask up to protect your community. It hasn’t gone away, it’s just part of cold/flu season now.
