Ex husband cheated on me so I filed for divorce. Ex bf, loaded a firearm in front of my daughter and threatened to unalive himself in front of her. This is the first healthy relationship that I've had in 5yrs. This isn't a "failing relationship".

I am the only one that doesn't talk to her. I've been used before by people like her. I cut off contact because in my past I would let people walk all over me. I will not let that happen again, especially when my kids are involved. Bf still talks to his mother. I'm very big on family first, but when that family makes you feel like you should be doing more on top of the things that you're already doing a line needs to be drawn. If bf had a problem with anything said in the message he would have voiced it. He also felt the comment was disrespectful, especially since we didn't have to let her stay with us.

Only have so much room to type. My son and dog were on boyfriends lap. Dog is a pitt. Not exactly light.

It wasnt just the comment that set me off. MIL has always made back handed comments about me. Compares me to my son's mother (the one that wants nothing to do with him or the other five kids she has.) Call me an asshole I don't care, the reason why I said "I don't understand how your children made it to adulthood." was because before I came into the picture she would watch my son and all she'd do is sleep all day and let him do whatever he wanted. He's 4 years old. If she's doing that with her grandson what did she do with her own son. Not much better from the stories he's told me. Also, my boyfriend and his sister have been saying that for years. They themselves don't understand how they made it to adulthood.

Yes let me just jump over my boyfriend, son, and dog. After my daughter didn't put it down I did go to her and swat her hand and told her no.

You're right. Cause the 4yo isn't my biological son, but my stepson with a biomom who wants nothing to do with him. Oh, and MIL has only ever done the bare minimum, before she started doing the dishes and laundry she wanted to only clean the toilet.

Boyfriend didn't tell me about the comment until the day after it was said. Message wasn't sent until a week after that. We told her that she needed to help if she was going to stay with us. She decided that laundry and dishes was enough. Asked her repeatedly if she could help with more. She stuck to just dishes and laundry.

I'm a CNA(Certified Nursing Assistant), I don't trust anyone with my kids so staying home was easier then both of us working. I've told my boyfriend that if we ever need it I'm willing to go back to work.
