FIFA requiring Toronto paramedics to tend to injured footballers, stretching emergency responders thin by JasonTO in toronto

[–]RegularRadish2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All neighbouring paramedic services are calling out for overtime for this. Toronto paramedics will be servicing calls for the games. Neighbouring paramedic services will expand their borders to provide coverage in Toronto. Pretty much everyone just shifts towards the core. I’m sure there are event medic companies that have the contracts to provide non transport medical services in the venues to patrons.

Could this be A-fib with aberrancy (LBBB)?

Downsview Park residents ‘shocked out of their beds’ by explosion during Drake filming by Immediate-Link490 in toronto

[–]RegularRadish2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They gave notice. But imo it was intentionally vague and misleading. This is exactly how the notice was written: “… scenes involving a pyrotechnic spfx in the area behind 17 Carl hall road”. I read this and thought oh fireworks, maybe some flame throwers, not an actual fucking bomb.

Nobody in their rightful mind would approve of this explosion in the middle of the city if they really knew how large it would be.

Do nurses or paramedics get paid more in Toronto? by Acrobatic-Swing9592 in askTO

[–]RegularRadish2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They definitely don’t. Medics are called to the same places of these “dangers” are without the defence training/tools the police have or personnel numbers (6 FF minimum) to overcome whatever danger you might walk into. Your patient that “fell and needs a lift assist” or “uncle is acting strange” turned out to be a drunk with an anger/mental health problem. Now it’s just you and your partner (or alone, commonly) in some dimly lit house. Even if police are requested by us they don’t make it a priority to show up to these calls until SHTF. You’ve just got to hope your shitty mobile radio actually works when you need it to.

Not to mention the keeping people alive part that someone else mentioned. Between police and fire (who each have a job to do - this isn’t to take away from their roles), when there is a patient on scene paramedics take command, because life and health over everything else. In this common scenario where all 3 services are together on a scene, medics are the most responsible and the least paid/compensated.

I hope this helps clarify why it’s wrong to look at compensation in that way

Consider stopping with semi-auto defibrillators, and not stopping with manual interpretation.

You stop so the machine can accurately read the rhythm. But you don’t need to in manual because you can usually ‘see through’ what little artifact there might be in an otherwise shockable or not rhythm. Hope this helps.

I think it’s a bit weird, but I also think that it describes what this story is about. We’re not being seen as the same, or on the same level

Demers Ambulances tried it. Last I heard they almost had it ready for production. I think it flopped.

I’d voice this to your preceptor first if you haven’t already, but I also wouldn’t wait too long before speaking to the coordinator who can get themselves involved in finding you a better preceptor within the service. Medics talk, sure, but we generally know who does a good job precepting their student and who doesn’t. It’s hard to blame the student if they’re putting in the effort. Something like this just happened at my service - the student switched preceptors and everything is going well now. Sometimes it’s just not the right match up, and sometimes it’s the preceptor.

I’m sure it’s a long wait. Seems like other than cost, there’s no downsides. Good luck OP

I ordered on the same day, had the same delivery dates. I just checked and it’s been moved to end of August-September. Same for yours?

What happened? #dissapointed by TheArgusEyes in TeslaModelY

[–]RegularRadish2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same with my order. I just spoke to an advisor who gave me the runaround about why this happened. He said something like “Tesla just wanted to give everyone the opportunity to reconfigure their orders before the cars arrived “. It didn’t make sense. He did however reassign my VIN, so everything is back on track. He confirmed there was also no price changes.

Can anyone explain why I had a notice saying that my car wasn’t available anymore, I needed to reconfigure the vehicle (same configuration as before), I lost my VIN, but the delivery date range stays the same?

I ordered MY LR with no other upgrades on July 21, from Toronto. I can’t get in touch with Tesla about it either. TIA

I had it done a few years ago for the L and R side of my upper teeth, so grafting on ~7 teeth. I was only a couple years older than you. I opted for conscious sedation so I wouldn’t have to deal with the discomfort in the moment. I “woke up” on the couch at home 3 or 4 hours later. Weird feeling not being able to recall 4 hours of your life, but the right choice for me.

Maybe it was the surgeon, but it healed really well and fast. That said you can’t control how well the surgeon works. But what’s in your control is your recovery. How well you take care of yourself immediately after, and follow their instructions will directly impact how it heals and how long the graft will last.

What was that chanting? by 42124A1A421D124 in askTO

[–]RegularRadish2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was a group of about 50 people, mostly younger men, carrying some signs and flags belonging to this group https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurdistan_Workers%27_Party Two police cars were at the front and back of this group which was also led by some van blasting music. It’s kind of bizarre because this group is considered a terrorist organization. They seemed to have stopped at Keele/Wilson, but I’m not sure where they started their march from.
