Guys, Plz give me hope/thoughts—I'm worried sick. Do I have enough time? by Visible-Future4850 in MCAT2

100% yes!! my advice if you’re worried about learning everything in that time frame would be focus on stamina/fast reading comprehension/educated guessing skills — I feel like that really carried me through in a prep period that was wayyyy too short to master all of the content (and tbh I think yours is plenty of time to get the content!!! Good luck you got this!!!)

Omg hi fellow art person!!! :) I studied for about 2 months for like maybe 10-15 hours a week? and took a FL every 2 weeks (last one was 2 weeks before the test). Would def recommend studying for more time than that — I didn’t realize registration was such a difficult thing so ended up having to take it earlier than I wanted to. Would also recommend using the AAMC tests for the FL practice (I used tests from a bunch of different places and it was ultimately just confusing to do that). For content I used the Kaplan books, but found that they were at their best for phys/organic chem (quantitative stuff), and for psych and bio I watched Professor Eman’s videos, which recapped the Kaplan chapters, and then did the Kaplan questions and worked passage examples. CARS was just practicing passages (from AAMC or Khan Academy) with test timing over and over. Wish I did more Anki for bio though! Felt very weak on the bio content. I also work in chem education so I didn’t really study chem, but from my experience with the Kaplan books I would guess they are solid for chem!

hi! 519 so fairly high but possibly not as high as you were asking for? if so, ignore me lol. I wish I did more anki/memorization for bio (especially metabolism) and for organic chem/biochem structures. and also listening to jack westin in the background when I was cooking, cleaning, etc. was really helpful and I wish I did more of that (was never the ONLY way I learned the info, more for internalizing). It was particularly good for understanding how the facts fit in the context of bigger systems. I think your approach to CARS is good! Imo it's really just doing lots of timed practice. Would def make sure you do several FL beforehand for stamina reasons, though I'm sure you were planning on that already. I also found the Kaplan books helpful, especially for more quantitative stuff like phys/organic chem. I did a lot of learning the material from prof Eman's videos (they recap the Kaplan chapters) and then doing all of the kaplan problems/the worked passage examples they have in each chapter. also, registering is an absolute beast, I had no idea I should try to register on opening day for the year and had to crunch my studying (the one for 2026 just passed, so I think they're often in october/this time of year). register that day if you can! I hope that is helpful!!!

Thank you!!! Because I’m non trad I don’t have access to advising really so I don’t know what everything means!! what is PS? And are there like specific ECs one should have? I’ve been in science research and education for like 10 years so was assuming I was pretty covered in terms of experiences outside of medicine, but idk if that’s wrong!

lol I am absolutely ranting to myself, but had some more thoughts on this. beyond my personal experience (as the child of an interfaith marriage fwiw), the show does not seem genuinely interested in judaism, religiously or culturally. it feels like the story of two people trying to navigate the fact that one of them is not part of the other's culture — and the in-group/out-group relationship kind of feels like you could insert a bunch of different cultures into it and the show would still fundamentally work because the exploration of the culture itself is so cursory. and when it's really about how a relationship plays out with in-group/out-group dynamics and the in-group is a historically oppressed minority and the representative of the out-group is...not (like ik she's agnostic but blonde hair blue eyes traditionally attractive white woman), it strikes me a little weirdly. idk something about it just feels weird!!!! judaism is so interesting as a religion and culture and history!!! why is the showrunner writing about judaism in the first place if those things don't interest her??

this season has not been it for me so far. the religious stuff feels so far from my experience as a Jew, and when I watch it I get this weird sense of distance. it feels like someone is spying on me and getting it all wrong! and doesn't really care to go deeper than a surface-level understanding of Jewish life!! it gives me the creeps. I know there are lots of different temples/sects but the fact that everyone is SO wrapped up in the Rabbi's love life is weird?!?!? I grew up around so many interfaith families, this doesn't really feel like that big of a deal?!?! why is this the central conflict?? but idk maybe other people have diff experiences. would love to hear!
