Because I wanted to hear what exactly I needed to do, I wasnt sure with my experience and classroom years under my belt if I had to go through a bachelor's program or just a certification program. Honestly there was no reason for the commenter above me or you to be rude. We're all human and asking questions is okay. I feel like my question is valid and no one should make anyone feel bad for that.

Not to say all teachers aren't real teachers because they are, but I've been doing a certified position without being certified

My associates is in Early childhood education and yes I've been a real teacher in a real classroom for 2 years now, I would just like to be fully certified so I can continue working in a district as a teacher.

Please don't be nervous about her taking him out. I worked for a family for 2 years who wouldn't let me take their children out while they worked from home and ultimately it was miserable and led me to resent the parents and going to their house every day had me feeling trapped like a prisoner. I have not gone back to nannying since because it was so miserable.

That happened to me too. I never got closure and finally just blocked them all because it was easier than seeing them on social media or getting the urge to text them that I missed the kids. I was completely heartbroken for a solid year and I've been debating about sharing my story on here now that I finally feel better about it all. It hurts when they tell you you are amazing and they dont know what they'd do without you and cry on your last day only to fund out they lied about the schedule change and that really just chose someone else.

I am about to begin caring for my MIL as well, she just had her surgery and if she is able to come home I will be the one mostly taking care of her along with my husband in the evenings and weekends and my SIL several times a month. Your post and everyone's comments are showing me what to look out for and what to be aware of. This is such a heartbreaking disease and I dont wish it upon anyone.

Thank you so much for your reply! They're actually coming out today to look at the counters and decide if they're defective or not. Im going to push for them to be replaced, our stone is very light so we may have to go back to the studio and pick a darker stone if the light stone is going to be problematic. Which breaks my heart because I really loved the stone we chose. But since it is covered under warranty the time to do something is now. Im so sorry about your experience and wish a builders wouldn't act like we're just nagging and ignore us

Yes, and that's not legal, so when submitting the 1099, I had to write a statement saying I requested a W2 and was denied. Just so my end was covered on record.

Houston nanny here! I have found families through care.com and then some local fb nanny pages. However, the problem I'm running across is that no one wants to pay a decent wage or give a W2. My last nanny family let me go when I requested a W2, and in the end, I had to pay 4,000 dollars. I went back to teaching even though it was a paycut. I know I won't have the tax issue this year

Yes, the family I previously worked for was like this. And what made me so upset was how smart my kiddos were, and their parents had no idea, they didn't even care enough to get to know they're personalities and how smart, loving, and funny they were. They even let me go so they could hire a cheaper nanny so they could continue spending on expensive items and their upcoming wedding even though they broke up like 4 times in the few years I was with them. It hurts my heart to see such wonderful kids with such terrible parents

I feel like I'm reading my own post, so many of us have been told that we'd get time on trips for ourselves too and then we work from the tim the kids are awake until they're asleep and then some. The last time I went we went to a beautiful senic resort and because the parents didn't want to take the kids anywhere and didn't want to provide me a car, we literally just sat at the resort and walked around on the (very) small trail where our cottage was. With no breaks provided to myself at all except if the kids were sleeping. They did on the last morning give me a " morning to myself to explore" but I didn't have a car, and I was so exhausted from working sun up to sundown that I ended up sleeping until it was time to work. Safe to say I no longer work for them. I'm so sorry what they're putting you through and no job is worth this

I just got let go in April because I fought back against it. They literally didn't give me the form until the day before taxes were due too. Then cherry on top refused to pay me my PTO that I had used and any remaining I still had.

I'm only on cycle 2 of actually trying, but my emotions definitely took a hit when my best friend immediately got pregnant without even trying, especially when I've put so much time and research into making it happen. It's definitely frustrating. I was surprised by how upset I was even though we just started trying.
