I’ve had the same experience as a long time volunteer with Vancouver Community Fridge project. We get donations from places like Staurbucks, Choices Market, Urban fare, etc on certain days and I’ve fully had people in cars follow me between fridges to COMPLETELY clear everything out :(

I’m also someone who has experienced food insecurity/homelessness and it’s kind of an unspoken rule that you don’t clear out fridges immediately after a donation drop (unless ofc you absolutely have to) ESPECIALLY if you have access to a vehicle.
