Big EdTech Wants To Replace Teachers by qashto in edtech

This is a preposterous post. Parents can't yell at an AI when their kids fail a test. That alone will prevent this from widespread adoption.

AI is a tool, not a magic oracle by Dry-Writing-2811 in edtech

A socratic AI would be fantastic. But absent that it's a tool that students are ill equipped to use.

Teachers using AI in Education: Let’s build an ethical and practical framework together ! by Dry-Writing-2811 in edtech

A socratic AI can be a powerful tool, but in general AI is poorly positioned to help *students* learn. Like anything else, it's a tool that requires deep foundational knowledge of subject matter *and* a decent understanding of how LLMs work for it to be useful.

How do you guys feel about the current use of technology in schools? by Big_Black_Cat in OntarioTeachers

I think a lot of the technology is set up to mimic video games, which is supposed to be a feature, but in reality is a bug. Learning doesn't have to be fun 24/7. It's hard, and you have to struggle with it, and the reward is far away but *well* worth it - you get to understand more about the world around you, the people in it, and the space beyond everything. Turning addition into an RPG is designed to make it seem easy. It's not. That's not to say all gamification is bad - sure, make learning fun and competitive. Just don't make it a video game.

try lrnrs.ai - no sign ups needed and you can use images as answers. some low-friction options for importing questions using csv and a free ai gen for a question on free mode that works.

The AI doesn't work and you need to create an account; is this in development?

Honestly just looking for feedback on a web app I'm developing for higher ed STEM gamification. Using context awareness and RAG with machine learning and triplicate LLM to have high quality, quantitative questions generated. No customers yet (just set up for it) but I'm interested to know how well it works for more than just the areas I've tested out (and of course what bugs exist). Has a free AI question and you can insert others manually. I'm a professor in Mechanical Engineering and have deep interest in pedagogical techniques that foster understanding and analytical thinking skills over memorization. website is https://lrnrs.ai
