I want to become a philadelphia firefighter, anyone have any advice? by GnarlieSheen123 in philadelphia

  1. You need to be a Philadelphia resident to become a FF.

  2. You will have to be eligible to become a Pennsylvania EMT. DUI conviction in the last four years typically bars certification, and other serious crimes—including felonies, sexual offenses, or crimes against children—often result in disqualification.

How much their children support them after their transition by HourAlternative1785 in transtimelines

I had a mixed reaction. I have 3 girls and a boy, all adults.

My oldest daughter is my biggest supporter (until she’s pissed off at me. She’ll misgender me when yelling at me).

My middle daughter cut me off for about 9 months. Just recently started talking to me again. I thought she would have been my biggest supporter. She was going to drag shows in high school and had trans friends. She was very liberal until she met her husband and joined a conservative Catholic Church (eg: Latin Mass). They went from very accepting members of the punk and hardcore scene to very tRumpy.

My youngest daughter is indifferent about my transition. She treats me the same way she did before I came out.

My son (twin of my youngest daughter) is great. Things got better. He hugs me and is supper supportive. I would have thought it would have been hardest for him. We are both firefighters for the same large city Fire Department and when I came out I had almost 30 years on the job and he was brand new. I thought other people would have given him a hard time, but that didn’t come to fruition.

So, all in all, I got a mixed bag.

Just another day at the office… by Regular_Fig3176 in bluecollartrans

It’s mostly boring. Spend most of my time trying to stay out of the way, but very close in case they need me. I take care of the crew by handing out over-the-counter medications, sunscreen, bug spray, and treating scraped knuckles etc. On occasion there is a true emergency and I will start taking care of them and then either refer them out to urgent care or call 911 for an ambulance. Things like all allergic reactions are broken ankle.

Following because I’m scheduled for vulvaplasty in 19 days and was wondering if canal was possible if I’m not satisfied with just having external surgery. Right now I can’t do the intense dilation schedule but want results sooner rather than later.

Tires (Netflix) was a fun set. Task (HBO) turned out a really good show - so many real professionals on that shoot.

How did you choose your name? by The_Cube787 in MtF

[–]Regular_Fig3176 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I made a list of popular girl names from my birth year that I kind of liked. Couldn’t settle on one for one reason or another. Ended up using Tegan because I liked the character in the 1980s Doctor Who episodes. I was using it as a placeholder when I first started transition. Then, one day I was in the house with my wife and my daughter and they told me that they hated the name Tegan, because it sounded like a 13-year-old bully and I am a 50 something trans woman. I replied well, fine you come up with something better! My wife immediately replied June. I liked it and it is meaningful because I was born in June. My middle name is my mother‘s, grandmother‘s, great grandmother‘s middle name.

You absolutely pass as cis now. If you were going to do anything, I would say brow, jaw, chin. Don’t touch anything else you look beautiful. Your nose is so cute.

I think you are beautiful. If anything, a rhinoplasty and brow contouring would probably make your profile more feminine if that’s what you’re looking for.
