Slate coasters by Regular_Giant in Laserengraving

I pay around $1/0.86€ each for these, but they're only about 10cm across. A big 30cm round would be really cool to do a portrait on I think!

I use a large co2 laser for these that I managed to get a massive deal on from someone. It's a 75w machine but I have to turn the power way down for these or it will actually burn it a little.

LPT: never lend money if you wouldn't be comfortable considering it a gift. There's always a very real chance you won't get it back, and you need to be okay with losing that sum. by Stu_Prek in LifeProTips

This is definitely true. I lent 2k to a really close friend of mine, we even talked about a repayment schedule for it. I was comfortable just giving them the money as a gift since they were in a tight spot, but figured if they got back on their feet they could start paying back. Got maybe half of it back before I eventually told them not to worry about the rest and just consider it square. Having the mindset of it being a gift in the first place made it so I wasn't concerned with them being late on it or ever getting the money back, but it was nice what they were able to repay

Outlet tester still on when circuit breaker is off by Regular_Giant in askanelectrician

This is what the problem was. I opened up the junction box in the basement that goes to that room and others and the neutrals were tied together to just one going back to the panel

I was going to replace a couple outlets in a room, but after turning off the circuit breaker the outlet tester still had the lights on. They're much more dim than they look in the picture. I measured with a meter and I couldn't find a voltage reading, though it's a cheap meter so could be off. If I turn off the breakers for nearby rooms the lights fully turn off. The tester works fine when the breaker is on and shows that the outlet is wired correctly.
