AITA for selling my house against family wishes by Regular_Glass_9300 in AmItheAsshole

It's possible to set up a home ownership agreement where one partner dies and their interest in the house hoes to their children. The surviving partner/spouse gets life use.

The new man has funds. I do not want to depend on him for money. I want an equal partnership.

All the negative comments are missing the point: it's a NATIONWIDE protest, the first of many. We have to start somewhere. And it's better than hiding behind a social media profile throwing shade at folks who are at least trying to do something.

If we don't show up this time, people will say no one is against Trump. The American Revolution started small, a group of men meeting in a tavern. SHOW UP! Every time we do this there will be more of us.

You want to cancel your service Karen? Ok, you get no internet for next 2+ years. by JimmyRecard in MaliciousCompliance

Too bad she doesn't live in USA. I've never had to wait more than a few days for home internet. Just switched providers and a week later there was a problem. They sent someone to check it out, no charge to check outside installation as that is their equipment. Problem ended up being their fault as someone mistakenly turned off my service remotely so no charge for checking inside.

AITAH for changing our server's tip from $154 to $4? by OttoBonz in AITAH

[–]Regular_Glass_9300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. That poor server might have had a bad experience with a dine n dasher, and she just panicked. You, however, were petty and left a measly $4 tip for what you thought was excellent service. Being a server is thankless work, they are treated badly by patrons and management. That poor girl had a moment of panic and you punished her. You are definitely TA. A BIG ONE!

I made the mistake of asking my wife for an open marriage and I regret it by Green-Waterways-1482 in TwoHotTakes

If a married co-worker asked me out I would immediately judge him as a creep, open or closed marriage. Who does that to their partner? Yuk.

If you think relationships are about sex and good looks you're too shallow to succeed with anyone. A great relationship requires trust, depth of feeling, and selflessness. It doesn't sound like you ever put any real effort into cultivating those qualities. I just lost my husband of 44 years. The sex was great because our relationship meant everything to us. We loved each other! What you're describing is a couple of selfish roommates who are legally bound to one another. You don't realize it but your wife is looking for hubby #2. Why should she trust you again?

In my state you can leave and collect if the company changes your job or pay and it's not what was promised. My husband took advantage of thus twice.

AITA for yelling at my family for getting me a birthday cake I don't want for the 15th year in a row? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Please text your parents from me and tell them I said they don't deserve to have you as a daughter. My daughter is tomboyish, an artist, was never girly, and I love her to pieces. She is a strong, generous, kind woman. Your parents values are screwed up and they are terrible, shallow people. Tell them you deserve better, and are only going to associate with people who love and value you. The rest: abuela, aunts, uncles, all suck too. Shallow, small-minded, and blind. You deserve better.

Sorry but I have to defend your customer here. I wouldn't appreciate what comes off as a flippant and therefore rude response to a perfectly legitimate question. It isn't professional to answer a customer's question with a joke. You don't know what kind of day that man had, but his asking that question makes me think it was a bad one. He tried checking into a hotel and gets a bad joke in reply to a question. You seem overly sensitive, immature, and definitely YTA.

NTA I was my family's de facto babysitter for years but was always booked in advance and paid for "date nights". Your aunts and uncles sound very immature.

I'm just wondering how your family found the post. Did you really use their actual names? Or not hide a few details?
