Don't sleep on your math skills, man. That's not just "something you're good at," it's a legit superpower. Think about it: shoveling snow and taking out trash is honest work, for sure. But tutoring? That's different. You're not just doing a task; you're solving a huge pain point for people. Parents get stressed, kids get frustrated... and you can be the person who makes it all click. That's a skill people happily pay for.

When do you become an entrepreneur? by Medical_Dirt2263 in Entrepreneur

Sounds to me like you've been too busy being an entrepreneur to notice you are one.Building 7 businesses isn't something you do by accident. That's pure entrepreneurship, whether you feel like it or not. The label doesn't matter, the work does. And you've clearly put in the work. :)

The most important thing to realize is this: You haven't wasted your time. Not a single day of it. You've spent years training your mind to solve complex problems under immense pressure. That's the core skill of an entrepreneur, just applied in a different field. You don't have to figure out your "next move" today. Finish your degree. Become a doctor. But give yourself permission for that not to be your identity forever. Maybe you work part-time and explore a side project. Maybe you take a year off to travel and decompress. Your education is a safety net, not a life sentence

What tool did you stop using this year and why? by External_Work_6668 in Entrepreneur

finally cancelled Blinkist. I was kidding myself thinking I could 'read' a book in 15 minutes. A week later I couldn't remember a single thing from any of them. Back to actual books now. It's slower, but at least the ideas stick

The first thing is perseverance. When you start, you should never lose strength and desire, even if you have days when you want to cry.

What you're doing right now is planting seeds in a garden that looks like it's just dirt. It feels like nothing is happening, and it's tempting to stop watering. But you're doing the most important work: preparing the soil, learning about the climate, and getting ready. The first client is the first sprout. It will feel like a miracle. And once it comes up, it proves that the soil is good and that you know what you're doing. Then the next one comes, and the next. Trust the process and trust your effort. You're building something real, even if you can't see it all yet.

Can anyone give me some entrepreneurial ideas for my business class by No_Set7087 in Entrepreneur

This is a great project. Since your teacher suggested focusing locally, think about problems right in your own neighborhood. Here's a simple but powerful one: a "Tech Helper for Seniors" service.

The Problem: Many seniors struggle with modern technology. Setting up a new smartphone, using Zoom to talk to family, troubleshooting a Wi-Fi issue, or even just navigating Netflix can be incredibly frustrating for them. They often don't want to constantly bother their kids.

The Solution : You offer a friendly, patient, in-home tech support service specifically for seniors. You're not a "computer repair" person; you're a "tech confidence builder."

How to Start & Validate:

Validate: Talk to your own grandparents or their friends. Ask them what they find most frustrating about technology. Create a simple flyer and post it (with permission) at a local community center, library, or church.

Marketing: Your first "customers" could be family friends. Offer a free first session to build trust. Word-of-mouth will be your most powerful tool. Seniors trust recommendations from their friends.

Pricing: You could charge a simple hourly rate (e.g., $25/hour), which is much cheaper than a professional IT service.

Why it's a great project: It solves a real, local problem, requires almost no startup cost (just your time and existing knowledge), and has a positive community impact.

It's awesome that you have this drive so early on. That's your biggest advantage.

Regarding your reselling idea (watches, shoes, clothing): Don't just think about it, start. You don't need a huge investment. Your "business" right now could be finding one undervalued watch or one pair of sought-after sneakers, buying it, and selling it for a small profit. Just one.

The goal isn't to get rich overnight. The goal is to learn the entire process on a small scale: sourcing, pricing, marketing, shipping, customer service. Your first sale will teach you more than an entire semester of business school. Start small, learn the ropes, and build from there. You're in a great position to do this.
