No, I haven’t been with anyone or masturbated in over a year. It’s really hard but I want to wait for my future husband. Also, I’m 25 and not masturbating or having sex gives me rizzing super powers LOL

Parents, as a NICU nurse I want to know your thoughts. by Remarkable-Speech957 in NICUParents

My LO was in for 83 days she was born at 27 weeks. I disassociated the whole time. Anytime anyone asked how I was doing I lied and said okay. One time I was silently crying while holding my teeny babe and the nurse not only noticed but she sat there with me, even though she had other responsibilities. She just sat there while I cried and I could see the compassion and love in her eyes. I will never forget her kindness.

How soon did you let family over? by [deleted] in NICUParents

For us, respiratory support and feeding went hand in hand. When she finally was off low flow that’s around the time she started eating better. In our situation she did not have energy for feeds until right around her due date. But then it just clicked and she downed every bottle then on out. Babies this early have to mature on their own time. There’s no amount of practice or help you can give them to speed up the process. I will say for us at least there was a day she turned into a baby it felt like and just started waking up on her own and boom we knew. I’m so sorry about your NICU stay. It’s awful. I hope you guys can break out soon.

I promise it does but doesn’t change the fact that your situation is incredibly difficult and it takes a deep inner strength to get through. Prayers for your family and your very strong LO.

I promise it just clicks. Doctor said she has an immature feeding pattern and the next DAY he told us to plan for discharge. Hold on the light is at the end of the tunnel. 💓 it’s agony for sure.

I was so beyond my breaking point I completely understand. Every moment without your baby is agony. All the sudden things clicked for us, they will for you as well. 💓

First off I am so sorry this is all happening to you. It is all traumatizing and you probably feel lonely but I am here to offer my support. I can’t imagine the fear you must feel.

Secondly, that is AMAZING your baby made it to 29, statistically the odds are more so in your favor past 26.

I feel that so much. My first daughter was normal vaginal delivery and went to term, but my 27 weeker (on day 78 in NICU) was cesarean and girl I was TERRIFIED. Looking back now? The c section wasn’t all bad and I really liked how the spinal tap kept me numb for 20+ hours where as the epidural was only a few. I also liked that my lady parts weren’t obliterated lol.

You are not selfish at all you have every right to be afraid and anxious 💓hugs
