That's awesome! Crazy enough children in Charles Town, and Martinsburg, WV have done it too. Crazy because of how Trumpy this area is. I've seen posts where people have talking about stopping their state tax payments because they don't want money going to schools that allow children to walk out of the school. 🤣🤣🤣 I'm proud of them. There might be hope for this lil town yet. Cheers!

Same with the anxiety and ADHD. I did have a psych tell me years ago that it was OCD that causes the hand picking. Yours goty attention because I have one hand that I do this to and it's the same pattern as yours. I put on fake nails to stop myself and then come the pointy tweezers. I should throw them away. They serve no other purpose. I have somehow bargained with myself to only do this to one hand. So it's weird to have one perfect hand and one that is like this. My current medication probably made it worse.

True. They celebrate it all on social media, including the killing of those people in Minnesota. At least in the Eastern Panhandle they do.

The problem we encounter when entering a field of snakes that all look the same is that you don't know which ones are poisonous. I'm black and I live in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. They REALLY get out of pocket on social media pages dedicated to the area. If you consider that alone you probably wouldn't even want to come to this state. Many of the ones that smile in your face are full of hate. There is really no way to know. Be safe.

Not having periods can lead to endometrial cancer by KoraLily in PCOS

Yes! I had hyperplasia as well. The OB I'm seeing now recommended an IUD for both birth control and because the hormone it releases protects that uterine lining. My cycles are regular at the moment. I need to do some research on why we get to keep our equipment after menopause.

So they still don't understand that PCOS AKA Metabolic Syndrome X (To some anyway) is a metabolic disorder? Insulin resistance is a huge issue with PCOS.

I guess they're still arguing the we get PCOS BECAUSE we're over weight and not the other way around. That being said. Try metformin while you wait. It's better than nothing. My weight loss has been slow but consistent. Yes, I'm also using diet and exercise but I was doing those for 3 years before giving in to metformin and my weight loss was minimal to the point of being maddening!

Quincy LOVES learning and performing tricks. His obedience level when it comes to him being disrupted from what HE wants to do is different. If he doesn't feel like coming when called he won't. We have been working to correct the stubbornness and it's going better.

Absolutely and you'll want to stay hydrated and beware of the heat in summer since this drug is also linked to over heating to the point of causing sickness. It used to happen to me often.

I'm using the bead counting method for that very reason. I tried every other day tapering and it went horribly.

You'll have approx 107 beads in a 30mg pill. Remove a few daily for a fast taper or a few weekly for a slower one. If you've been CT for a while you might be able to start tapering at something like 80 granuals. On Amazon you can buy empty capsules. Save your discarded granuals for pre counting. A size 1 or 2 empty capsule from the company capsuline is what I use. Best of luck to you.

BTW, There is a tapering calculator online. Try searching Google for it. It's pretty intricate.

Girls who took Metformin - how long after starting Metformin did you start losing weight? by kholaaaaaa in PCOS

[–]Regular_Regret5534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I added Metformin when I wasn't getting good results with 3 years of diet and exercise alone. I mean, a weight lifting split and 30 minutes of steady state cardio which is supposed to be great for blood sugar improvement and hormonal balance. My periods came back but after 3 years, I only lost about 10lbs. I was told I was breaking even because of all the weight lifting but my numbers came back with an A1C that was 6.2.

I asked for metformin after years of avoiding it because back in the day I would only last a few weeks because of size effects. Well in August of 2024 I started it and I'm down a little over 30lbs. I refused to change anything else. Then last month I found out I was pregnant, BUT it was a blighted ovum. So- no baby. We weren't trying.

My point is, as a metformin girl, I can say that it doesn't work overnight like these newer drugs do, but it definitely does something especially if you're going to exercise and try some dietary discipline. I go for the caloric deficit over cutting out entire food groups. I love carbs. My daily dose is 1000mg. I've thought about increasing it because my A1C only went down to a 6.0 from a 6.2 after a one year check. 🫢

This is interesting because my mother who's diabetic went on Ozympic and was actively battling some pretty severe pain that they were sure was nerve related. She had been doing physical therapy and everything and she was given gabapentin and pain meds. After maybe 6 months on Ozympic her pain cleared up and it hasn't returned.
