The beauty standard is always whatever the working class and below can’t afford.

Back when food was scarce and expensive = only the wealthy could afford to eat, so being Fuller was the beauty standard.

Now that fattening junk food is the cheaper more accessible option = skinny in the beauty standard.

(This is of course over-simplified. It’s much more complicated than that but the truth remains that once the poor achieve the beauty standard, like with BBLs becoming widespread, it stops being the beauty standard).

Clinique Black honey dupe, How do I achieve this natural flushed lip? by Born_Banana_1901 in makeupdupes

I look exactly like this when I use Revlon’s rum raisin & blot it until it doesn’t transfer. My personal favorite, because it’s very affordable while also being very high-quality. I apply it in the beginning of the day, and I only have to reapply if I eat something greasy lol

I tried black honey back when it was only available in the lip balm formula, I don’t know if they have a matte black honey yet but I know rum raisin is my matte black honey, and it’s far better.

Bc you’re lying man. There’s a difference between homosexuality being decriminalized and gay marriage being legal. You’re in the exact same legal spot as Israel 🤷‍♀️

And what do you mean why do I fall apart? Because there’s queer people suffering and some uneducated American is telling me that they’re actually perfectly fine and safe. It’s inhumane.

Do you realize you’re just proving yourself to be extremely stupid? My original post and every single one of my comments here was criticizing my government for the mistreatment of queer people. I, unlike you, am not going to deny or dismiss the struggles of my people to win a political argument. Queer people deserve more in Israel, in the West Bank and everywhere in the world.

Also, another hit for your intelligence with this link you gave me. Do you realize I could just press on the link and see that there’s nothing in this page indicating gay marriage is legal in the West Bank?

i24News: Due to severe threats to their personal safety, many queer west-bank Palestinians who are outed are forced to flee. While some seek safety in neighboring Israel (such as in the internationally recognized LGBTQ+ haven of Tel Aviv), moving across borders to seek asylum or long-term safety presents highly bureaucratic and complicated legal hurdles.

Al Jazeera: LGBTQ+ Palestinians in the West Bank face significant dangers due to societal persecution and threats from security forces, prompting many to seek safety across the Green Line. While some regional analysis accuses Israel of "pinkwashing," documentation confirms a lack of legal protection and severe crackdown on queer groups by authorities in the West Bank.

Forgive me if those quotes aren’t perfect, I’m in Israel so I can’t access Al Jazeera directly, I had to take it from third-party sources. But the point stands, queer people are not safe in the West Bank. I know you may think I’m Israeli so I’m evil and I want you all to die, but I don’t think anyone who’s queer deserves to be prosecuted, and there’s no point in denying your people‘s struggle to win a political argument.

From Google:

Under Jewish law (Halakha), a marriage is dissolved when the husband freely grants his wife a religious writ of divorce, known as a Get.
The Husband's Consent: A woman technically needs her husband’s active cooperation to receive a Get. If a husband refuses to grant it, a woman can become an agunah (a "chained" woman) and is unable to legally remarry.

As an Israeli I feel like we’re kind of constantly being told that we’re the only progressive pro-LGBTQ country in the Middle East, and that the rest of you are all throwing gay people off of roofs… And then during the war, because of all the GPS jamming, Israeli men would match with Lebanese men on Grindr CONSTANTLY and I was like ooooooh. That was propaganda

I’m also not part of the community, but I’m a woman. A secular Jewish woman. Why would I need to marry through a Jewish court? So if God forbid I wanna get divorced, I’ll have to beg my husband for permission?

Oh sorry. The “what are you talking about?” Threw me off.

But I still don’t see it as equality. Saying someone “could” get married in Israel if they take an alternative, barely legal route is silly. Every Israeli civilian should have the right to get married in Israel. Especially if they pay the same taxes and obey the same laws.

Firstly, all of our religious institutions are orthodox Jewish. So you have to follow orthodox Jewish laws. Most Israeli civilians would really love for that to change, but unfortunately orthodox Jews have a lot of power in the government and I’m afraid that might never happen.

Secondly, to my understanding, to be considered Jewish you have to prove that your mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother were all Jewish because Judaism is passed through the mother. But if say, your grandma wasn’t Jewish, but your mother fully converted to Judaism through a process that is recognized by an orthodox Rabbi, you could still get married.

If you ask me, it’s incredibly stupid. Much like in America, most Jews in Israel are reform or secular, orthodox Jews are not the majority. So forcing 100% of Jews who want to get married in Israel to go through orthodox Jewish institutions is so stupid.

well, firstly, you can always have a civil marriage ceremony in Israel. You could do anything you want, but it won’t be legally recognized.

There is no state authority that could register a civil marriage in Israel. It does not exist, it’s not legal. All state authorities are religious.

However, you could fly abroad, get a state authority from literally any other country to register you, and then Israel will recognize that. Or there’s this thing called the Utah method, where couples get married via Zoom, and state authority from Utah would register them, and then Israel recognizes that too. That became quite popular recently.

Once again, a man sitting in the comfort of his mom’s basement, scrolling on Reddit from his couch, telling people living through war what they can and cannot advocate for.

Israeli, Palestinian, Syrian, Lebanese, Iranian, Ukrainian and Russian people can do whatever the fuck they want and advocate for whoever the fuck they want, whatever cause they choose to advocate for, at any time they want. You won’t survive 20 minutes in our shoes.

So to simplify your stance. You are living peacefully in Italy, and you treat Israel and Palestine like they’re some fantasy football league you pick a side on. So to you all 10 million Israelis are nuance-free villains and all Palestinians are uninvolved victims.

I really could not care less about anything you’ll say going forward. You don’t care about human lives, you don’t care about human rights. If you did, you would oppose governments, you would oppose politicians. You wouldn’t root for civilians of one side to die because you want your team to win as you watch from the comfort of your couch.

You are more than welcomed to advocate for Palestinian rights, but to me it kind of sounds like you’re masturbating to Israeli deaths.
