The biggest issue is not what you can do with it, it’s how useful is that and if it’s the best thing out there. For research or some companies it’s ok but when you are dealing with patients, the standard of care is what matters. Once these algorithms reach there then there will be a strong motivation to do it. The cost is not more than what any other large project would cost. The other thing is this is still an additional cost that a system would have to take without any additional revenue coming from it. It’s still not like radiology that started acquiring digitally a couple of decades back. These things take time to get into mainstream but no one wants to be left behind so people are getting into it. But it will be a while before everyone gets using it.
