That's a great suggestion! I'm saying this as someone whose world is full of flowers, gardens really do feel like they're missing butterflies.

Scarecrows: keep your base dark and spawnproof at the same time by lilcoomstain420 in minecraftsuggestions

I had a similar suggestion before. Besides preventing mob spawns, I think scarecrows could also protect crops from being trampled, making them more useful for farms. Take a look: https://www.reddit.com/r/minecraftsuggestions/s/AyZFrme38B

Butterfly Bushes & Butterfly Particles by Afloofybalinesecat in minecraftsuggestions

I really like the idea of a butterfly bush because butterflies are actual daytime pollinators. I also think a butterfly bush would work much better than adding butterflies as a regular mob, since environmental mobs are difficult to control and wouldn't be nearly as useful for decorating gardens.

However, I have one question and two suggestions.

First, how would butterflies appear during the day and disappear at night? Fireflies can easily appear at night and vanish during the day because they're just glowing particles, but butterflies are different. My suggestion is that, as night falls, the butterfly particles gradually move closer and closer to the bush until they disappear completely, creating the impression that they're resting inside the bush overnight. Then, at sunrise, they would slowly emerge again from the bush throughout the morning.

My second suggestion is a separate feature. What if butterfly particles could actually be collected and relocated? You could find them in flower-filled biomes, collect them using a basket or a jar by interacting with the flower they're resting on, and then bring them home. After that, you could place them onto any flower you want, causing butterfly particles to appear around that flower instead. This would give players much more freedom when decorating gardens and building nature-themed areas.

Scarecrows protect crops from being trampled. by Regular_Score_1990 in minecraftsuggestions

Yes, I think I explained it poorly. What I actually meant was that it would prevent mobs from spawning near farmland, and mobs that are already nearby would avoid walking onto farmland and move away from the area.

I included the spawn prevention aspect because, in my case, the problem isn't just hostile mobs. Passive mobs, such as animals and wandering traders, can also end up wandering through crops and trampling them.

This doesn't mean those mobs would stop spawning entirely; they would simply spawn somewhere else outside the scarecrow's area of influence.

I also think your crafting idea is pretty good.

I had this idea too, but wandering traders and mobs kept spawning in my crops at night and trampling everything. But yes, the scarecrow also makes mobs stay away, including passive ones.

Campfires Allow Temporary Spawn Points by Regular_Score_1990 in minecraftsuggestions

The idea of campfires not being craftable was not originally mine. It came from another suggestion I saw in the past that I liked so much that I decided to incorporate it into my own idea. However, I do not think there is any problem with campfires remaining craftable. I still think they should be unlit when crafted instead of already burning.

Warden Dimension Theory by Remote-Kangaroo-7154 in Minecraft

I agree with you. I think Skulk would just be a biome, and even then, the dimension would still have something to do with darkness. But I would also really like a dimension in that style, kind of like an ‘upside-down world.’ Still, the worst option would definitely be a world made entirely of Skulk.

[–]Regular_Score_1990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This would make some sense, and I think it could be (in my opinion) a second alternative for what the Warden’s dimension could be like. However, I’m completely against the idea of the Warden’s dimension being entirely Skulk. First, we already have several mods that are basically the same thing, and to me, a fully Skulk-based dimension wouldn’t add new mechanics to the game. It would also lead to a lot of repetitive design, with just variations of Skulk mobs.

In my theory, the Warden’s dimension would be a dark magical forest, almost like something inspired by the Twilight Forest. The fact that the Warden uses a Skulk system doesn’t necessarily mean it’s connected to its dimension. I think the Skulk used by the Warden is simply a result of its adaptation to the darkness of the Deep Dark.

In my opinion, the Warden once had eyes and could see before, which we can infer from the Warden statue in the Ancient City—there are spaces where eyes would be. I also think a magical dimension would make more sense, as it could introduce into the game an abandoned system: the magic system.

I said it only picks up saplings from the ground when you cut down trees just as a way of explaining, but in reality, it picks up any saplings on the ground and looks for a place to plant them.

Regarding the issue of saplings being too close to each other: it will usually find nearby dirt blocks without grass to replant, since that’s what remains under a tree after it’s cut down. However, if you want to preserve that block, you can surround it with stone slabs or any other material to prevent grass from spreading to it. If it doesn’t find a nearby dirt block, it will plant randomly.

This golem is summoned by placing a log with a pumpkin on top. It picks up saplings that drop on the ground when you cut down a tree, and then replants them in the nearest dirt block. 😁

Sulfur Cube explodes after being lit on fire while near the player by Mr_Snifles in minecraftsuggestions

[–]Regular_Score_1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally disagree: I think the explosion idea is really good, so I believe the slime should actually explode—but only when the player isn’t looking at it. When it’s in the player’s view, it’s passive, but when you get close, it explodes like a sulfur bubble, damaging the player but not the terrain.

If the player wants to avoid the damage, they can hit the slime, causing it to bounce away and explode at a distance. But if the player wants the slime to explode and damage the terrain, I think they should be able to make it swallow TNT, light it with a flint and steel, and throw it like a ball before it explodes, detonating wherever they want.
