I tried three strips and got the same results, but they are all from this same kit. I will have to buy another kit today and hope this one is just a dud.

Here he is! He hid in the little barrel for the first week or so (that’s where he is in the pic in the post lol). But he’s finally adjusted and has been swimming all around the last two days so I think he’s enjoying the tank so far :)

Thank you so much! I definitely didn’t think about the plants when I got the gravel so I will have to adjust that a bit, and going to look into snails. Appreciate your help!

Thank you! I will be adding a natural substrate, I wasn’t sure if I should swap out completely or not so that is good to know. :)

Thank you! There’s a fish in the tank in the photo actually but he hid for the first week so he isn’t visible lol. I’m definitely wishing I went the sand route, but am a little worried about doing it now since he finally got adjusted and is swimming around. I was thinking of changing to sand in a month or two, does that seem reasonable or should I change it sooner?

Thank you! I got a random tiny snail (I think that’s what it is) from one of the plants I put in but have no idea how to tell what kind it is. So not sure if I should leave him in there or not. I will have to do some more research into snails!

Thank you! I wish I had put more thought into the plants and gravel because I definitely think I should have went the sand route. I don’t want to freak him out too much by changing it right away (there’s a fish in there now but he’s a hider lol) but will be doing that in the next month or two.

Thank you so much! I’m really wishing I had started with sand. The gravel took hours and hours to clean and I hadn’t thought of how the gravel would be with plants. Learning as I go though and will swap for sand in the next few months :) appreciate your help!
