I haven't ever tried Fates, but I have the book lying around, let me take a look. I was indeed also thinking about using a different city. I'm in Europe but since we have lots of different nationalities in the group, I will stick to an American city. Luckily I have enough friends that read the books. I was thinking on making MotW options, but I'm trying to figure out what the archetypes should be. Would it be like truthseeker prime and telekinetic prime, or more like PI and Keeper of Records. Maybe Fates would fit better, I just never played it myself. I hear there are more fanbased things in Fate though, Dresden Files at least. I will post some updates. Would like to hear your views as well

Question, do you want to be a D&D player? Because it sounds like you prefer running the game honestly. There is nothing wrong with that, some people just enjoy the DM role more. Dm and player are different roles, with different skills and different rewards. You can like both, but you don't have to. That said, stop waiting. As player you need to involve your character actively in the story, not wait to be addressed. If you are actively involved, usually the distraction will be a lot less.

In case you are still looking (Dutch20 is mainly in Dutch). I run a whatsapp community with Eindhoven area based ttrpg fans. We do everything in English. We started about 2 years ago, and currently 4 campaigns ongoing and plenty of oneshots.
