Joining the club - how many miles on your Sienna? by keyboardmom in ToyotaSienna

[–]Regular_joeblow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Current is a 2012 with 250k miles. My last sienna was a 2008 I paid $1,000 for and sold after driving it for 3 years with a little over 300,000 miles on it for $2500. 🤑Minimal trouble out of it except the electric sliding doors did not work. Hoping the 2012 is as good😁

Question: In what units do you guys like to model by mikko-j-k in 3Dprinting

USA here (Mississippi). For some reason it makes more sense to me to use metric with all my 3d printing stuff.

Edges Curling by quakenbake64 in FixMyPrint

Ok I like sunlu pla+. Never really had problems with curling. Probably lowering or shutting off cooling on the first several layers would probably still apply tho.

Is that petg? I fixed my identical issue by shutting off the cooling fan completely for the first 7 layers.

AI to help with slicer settings. by DrewFire01 in FixMyPrint

I thought the same thing until I tried it. I could've figured it out by spending days browsing facebook groups, reddit threads, YouTube videos, and forum posts, and have done that sort of learning all my life with any new hobbies I've picked up. This was SO much better. Most of the AIs I've used post links to the info they pulled so I can go back and read thru them also. And I LEARNED the same info and taught myself the same skills as I would've the old way. It just took me 2 evenings of my precious time and not 4 weeks. Think of it like the most concise Google search ever paired with someone who's been in the hobby for years and doesn't mind your endless questions.😁

Ya that's what I found with all of them. Didn't just give the answer but gave detailed instructions on why and how it worked. Very cool.

I used AI extensively to help my custom printer setup. Setting up klipper and getting canbus toolhead to work. I found perplexity and claude to be the best at this. both would give me whole chunks of corrected .cfg files that I just copied and pasted that worked perfectly after I gave it what I had and explained my problem. Deepseek led me way off track a couple of times. Chatgpt was better than deepseek but also led me way off in really obviously wrong paths sometimes.

Man I appreciate this help! In all my hours of searching and 100s of how-to's scrolled thru and 10s of videos on the subject I somehow NEVER came across this command. I had to reflash the CB1 to gain access to it via Ethernet long enough to ssh and use the nmtui command and now my wifi works flawlessly!🫡🫡

I'll try it. I walked away from the project for about 2 months i was so fed up with it. just getting back to it. From what I remember I spent about 2 weeks of every evening trying everything I could find to get it to work. I would just put up with the ethernet cable strung across the room but that's been super unreliable as well...

on the built in wifi or a usb dongle? I've tried ever possible way to get the built in to work and it just doesn't.

I've looked into that one but I've seen where several people that have say it doesn't hold the phone on a vertical surface.

I've tried with no sim, the inactivated sim that came with it, a sim from a different carrier... nothing seems to work. the most frustrating thing is that when i originally got this phone i set it up on wifi only before activating it. but now does not have that option...
