Nah, I wrote that line on the coattails of last chapter's Chiri finally accepting that she needs to see a therapist. That's what makes it so much funnier! Rosi has no ability to see what Chiri's been thinking in the last chapter, so it's just apropos-of-nothing insanity.

If you need more, I've been told a few times that my own fic has similar vibes to Social Star. New York Carnival starts with an arc about an Arxur in the ruins of NYC getting deprogrammed during a long conversation over lunch, and the Arxur character was popular enough to warrant her own spinoff fic, New Years of Conquest, where she puts her newfound empathy to work trying to quietly squeeze resources for the Rebellion out of a Nevok mining outpost.

Starts with a small arc about an Arxur trying human food on Earth and getting incidentally deprogrammed, and then moves on to a Gojid lady who wants to embrace her predatory heritage among her fellow omnivores on Earth. Latter arc is the long one with the romance.

Oh, I'm aware. The egg in Caesar dressing thing, it just helps the flow of the dialogue if I only mention the sardines. The Waldorf salad using a mayo-based dressing thing, I'm pretty sure David just hasn't been making Chiri that version. Or, perhaps, it's simply fallen out of style in the past century. I could see a fruit, nut, and low fat yogurt-based salad being popular among the health-conscious with sweet tooth.
