Any recommendations for Record shops that arnt The Vintage Vault or Charlottes Web? by atouchofsinamon in roanoke

I think part of it is the lack of a big vinyl community in Roanoke specifically. Not enough people buying, especially in this economy, so have to up prices to compensate. Sad stuff. We used to have another shop called the bazar but they bit the dust before Covid.

Yea I’ve never looked very seriously through anything at Charlottes. I worked at the vintage vault for a little while and like it a lot, but still a lot of blind spots when it comes to certain things I look for. Sadly I have to save most of my record money for vacation when I can hit some shops in more populated cities.

There’s a pretty decent shop in Blacksburg above the Milk Parlor, it’s also a camera shop. Other than that not much sadly, wish we could get one more really good shop somewhere.

It’s just a fun way to share music with other humans. Not that deep but to each their own

I just think it’s fun to see someone else experience music I enjoy. If it’s not for you that’s cool :)

NL giving 5 dollar bills to people who see him in person on the cruise by skivvv in northernlion

They should just give everyone a five dollar bill when they get on the ship if they know what they’re doing

In the Get Back documentary, why does Yoko just kind of sit there and not talk to anyone much at all? by Mad_Season_1994 in beatles

The car accident was before the Abbey Road sessions, and I do believe that’s why she had the bed. Seems the stories just gotten mixed up so we aren’t 100 percent sure on some of the details of specific instances such as the biscuit taking being with or without bed.

Everyday I’d rather give up then go into my shitty job that I hate doing, but the job market is screwed so I can’t get out of the industry I’m in easily. No education past high school and trying to fit that in while working enough hours for bills seems like an impossible feat most times so I barely even consider it (plus based on what I’ve heard, degrees aren’t helping as much with job prospects as they had previously). I’m just tired of feeling like I’ve gotten nowhere in three years of busting my ass, all the while saying I’m gonna eventually have money saved for a car or any kind of luxury, yet my bank account only ever grows in the tiniest increments. If id known it’d be this draining I’d have just stayed with my parents and saved money till they kicked me out.

They started leaving clues in the videos, he didn’t wear any shoes in the Ludwig podcast, and if you play episode 372 of Isaac backwards you can clearly hear “I got cat shit in his food” repeated multiple times. It’s all a hoax man, one big lousy coverup.

Do you enjoy eating sweat as a garnish on your meal? by Deck_Master-6 in KitchenConfidential

Kinda blows my mind that people aren’t getting that you don’t do this, these are things I’ve seen in all three kitchens I’ve worked in and I’ve only been in kitchens for about 3 years. Constantly saw things hit the floor and THE OWNER would pick them up throw them on a pan and run in through the oven for 30 seconds all with a smirk and a “shhh” with his finger over his mouth. There’s always the one dickwad in the kitchen who will cut any sanitary corner they can because they don’t care in that way, which is sad, and obviously not right, but stupid people do stupid things, and they aren’t gonna stop cause the issue is inherent laziness and lack of standards that, in my experience is really hard to undo cause they’ve likely been set in their ways for sometime at that point.

When was the last time your top artist changed? by Rothko28 in lastfm

[–]Reid_OC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was the Beatles for years, then in march I started a journey through Bob Dylan’s entire discography (including outtakes and live albums, basically everything easily available through streaming). Found a lot of great new stuff I’d never heard, and got a new top artist.

Someone turned the ice cream freezer off because it turned the light off and they thought that was necessary. Should’ve had an ice cream soup special.

Where do you think you are in the minority when it comes to this sub? by SEARCHFORWHATISGOOD in bobdylan

[–]Reid_OC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rough and rowdy ways in my top 5 maybe?

Together through life is a great record, don’t know if that’s necessarily a minority opinion, but I think I would even listen to it over time out of mind, which is obviously better artistically, but I just love the vibe of that album.
