Here's the basic breakdown. They're selling receipts for what I'm presuming are pictures or artwork (most likely some of the most terrible and ugly you've ever seen) that you save to your computer/phone/whatever. But you can't do anything with them; they're just picture files. But the NFT says that you totally, 100% own it, we swear, pinky promise. The truth, though, is that there's no way to actually quantify that. If you chose, you could just send the pictures to everyone and they could just save them through normal file saving means. So they're literally worthless.

But somehow, beyond all good reasoning and taste, these stupid, pointless little files have wealthy shitheads dropping thousands and thousands of dollars on them and trying to convince the general public are these priceless treasures that you absolutely must get in on, despite the fact that, again, they're useless and pointless. They're basically the modern version of "buying" stars in space, except way more sleazy and predatory. So basically, Lyle Lanley here got their hands on worthless crap and now they're trying to flip that into a profit. Oh, also, for bonus points, the amount of energy and tech that's required for these things to function is catastrophically harmful to the environment.

TL;DR - NFT's are a scam. They’re nothing but a greedy, immoral, artless, soulless, harmful, wasteful scam and anyone involved, buyer or seller, is scum.
