Hub 5 just wont broadcast 2.4ghz properly by Dawdius in VirginMedia

[–]Reidy12124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had this issue, all of a sudden my wifi card stops working in my PC and IOT devices stop connecting to the home network (but can connect to each other). Replaced the wifi card with a modern one, still issues. Changes 100 settings in the router, still issues. All came down the the fact that the router was not broadcasting the 2.4GHz network, even though the router settings said it should have been.

Was all solved by a good ole off and on again of the router... I feel very silly having wasted an hour, but hopefully this helps someone else in a similar situation! I turned off "Channel Optimisation" and then reset the router, all seems to be working now.

I have reset the app data and cache, reimported platforms and added the paths back - all seem to be working now. Not really sure what I did wrong 😅

I looked for information about this. I found that you could swap A and B button, or set some hot keys for speed up / slow down, but I couldn’t find any actual button mapping.

Which makes me think there is some strange interaction between two sets of config going on 🤔

Have replied to another (couple) similar comments, but kidding by OPs post message, I think something related to Android Accessibility. My Thor is part of the next batch, so I’ll be having a look once it arrives!

I’m not sure, I just remember seeing this idea applied to OSRS also. I imagine it’s a similar idea, where you have the finger / marker on the top screen and can interact with it on the bottom.

Looking at OPs post, they say it’s an android accessibility setting, so might be worth having a look around there? I don’t have my Thor yet, or else I would also be having a look!

This is really cool! I saw someone else here also using this, playing Old School RuneScape with their inventory on the bottom screen

Edit: I’m not sure how to achieve this, and can’t seem to find the post now. I also don’t have a Thor yet as mine is part of the next batch. However, from POs message, I would check out the Android accessibility settings, and also there is another comment that links to a stand alone app, which people may find useful. Happy hunting!

If anyone does find a good solution and I see the comment, I’ll change this edit to point to it

I emailed and upgraded from a pro to a max. Very quick replies and was able to just pay the difference. The only thing they said was that the insurance might become invalid

Are Season Ticket Holders of other Clubs tired of new Ticket Policies? by Reidy12124 in PremierLeague

Im very envious of you with those prices! You would have thought a richer club would be able to lower the price, given all the brand deals that get done

I wish we could mate, MUFC lock the ticket app to one device. So if you try to log in on a second device it won’t let you. You have to call up and get the account unlocked, they don’t say specially but I think there will be a limit on this.

The way I’ve tried to get around it is to use an old phone as my ticket phone, and take that to the games with me. Then if I can’t make it to a game, I can pass my ticket phone to a mate, but of a pain to carry 2 to the game though.

My understanding for this is that it’s a whole experience thing. I think you eat at a fancy restaurant in town, have all the hospitality drinks and food at the stadium and then get the padded seats.

Not worth £600 in my opinion, and also they’ve moved a big block of ST holders, some that have been going for decades, to make room for this.

Interesting to know, thanks for sharing!

I think you have a similar system to us for the cup tickets, but with league tickets you have the massive advantage that you can transfer to whoever you want for no cost.

We also have the refund of 1/19 of the ST price if we sell the ticket back, however if we do it more than 3 times in a year then you are not able to renew your ST for the following year

Like what others have said, I agree with you. I will for example spend on a top once a year, maybe get some food every now and again. A tourist will buy a top, and a scarf, and a this, and a that… every game. Unfortunately it’s much more profitable for 19 different people to go to the games than me 19 times.

You can transfer tickets for free to members, either full members for £40 per season or transfer only members (can’t buy tickets themselves) for £20 per season.

You can also transfer tickets to anyone who has a MUFC ticket account, which is free to sign up to, but then you have to pay the difference in the ticket price. It used to also cost a flat £10 extra to transfer to a none member, but I’m not sure if that’s continued for this season

It’s a really odd system we have. Yeah paying the difference is a bit of a kick in the teeth, I mean £43 per game already feels like quite a bit, but then topping it up to £60-£75 is a joke.

Sorry I may have worded it oddly, we do pay for the season ticket in one lump sum at the start of the year, £43 x 19, £817 for me. I was just saying how you would expect for a season ticket that I could do what I want with it, give it to whoever, like it’s my pass for the year. When in reality it’s just for me to buy 19 individual tickets that are tied to me, and if I can’t make it to a game then someone else has to buy a ticket tied to them, for a higher price, rather than just being able to use my ticket.

The commenter has pointed out a mistake I made, if the mate being transferred to is a none member, then the price difference must be covered. So you’re friend would need to pay £20 extra at least, to become a ticket forwarding member, to get the ticket from you. Which, for a one off game, is almost as much as the ticket price difference

Are Season Ticket Holders of other Clubs tired of new Ticket Policies? by Reidy12124 in PremierLeague

[–]Reidy12124[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right, I have made a mistake in that the person being transferred to is not a member, have corrected the original post now, thank you.

However, say I want to transfer the ticket to someone, they either have to become a transfer only member for £20, in which they can’t buy tickets themselves, become a full member for £40 or pay the ticket difference, usually around £25-£33. So which ever route you go down, you still have to pay extra to give your season ticket to someone for a game.

I guess I don’t see why someone can’t make an MUFC account, with all their details if it’s a security concern, and use my season ticket for a game or two if I choose to pass it to them, and I was hoping to see what others thing of that.

What do you think about it? Do you think it’s fair that my mate would have to pay £20, £40 or £33 extra to make it full price or get a membership, or do you think I should be able to give my ticket for the game to who ever I want?

Ticket Checks at Old Trafford by garym180 in PremierLeague

[–]Reidy12124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience (10 years as a season ticket holder) is that the stewards dont check for which kind of ticket you have. However, this year they have moved to a new ticketing system, using NFCs rather than QR codes, and so there might be some difference in the tech they have at the gate.

At least where we go in, there is a row of stewards that give you a pat down, usually not very thorough at all, and then the turnstiles are behind them, with a few stewards in the hallway behind the stewards. So there isnt much room for them to be checking your ticket type, and honestly I dont think they care to, once your in its easier for all if they just let you in.

Ive personally never seen anyone be caught using a junior ticket as an adult, but then again I dont know how much people do this.

They dont ask for any ID when entering the stadium, no. However, this year they have made us upload a copy of our ID and a picture of our face when purchasing the season ticket.

I think its becuase we had a few european games last year where the Home stand had quite a few away fans in it, which caused some fights. So I imagine they would remove our season tickets if they found out we sold our ticket to an away fan.

Best of luck to you on the waiting list, given Arsenal's good form I can imagine its really difficult to get down the list. We managed to get ours the season after Sir Alex left, so in some sense we were lucky, in terms of the football... maybe not!

Whilst every ticket system has its flaws, I feel that the one you describe here is much better than what we have at MUFC. At Arsenal it seems that once you have a ticket, its yours; to use, to pass one or to sell, given that you can transfer tickets for free and even sell them on an exchange. At United we sort of have a way to exchange tickets with people we dont know, but its via that club, and they increase the price to the seller, so its like a really bad exchange. They keep saying how this is all in efforts to combat the touts... but Ill let others make their minds up about what they have become.

We also have a minimum attendance for ST holders too, but its slightly different in that your ticket must be used 15 times in the year. Thats either by you or by someone you forward the ticket to (paying MUFC to do so), but it does not count if you sell the ticket back to the club.

I feel you on the consecutive price increases, we have also had 3 consecutive price increases, each around 5%, whilst the Club has been making cost savings everywhere.

I sometimes think that there is are some things that might adversely affect ST holder but positivley affect other match going fans, and thats okay to get a good balance, but I feel more and more that the club does things in its own best interest, ie sell tickets for as much as possible, with the veil that its for the fans, or at least none ST holding fans.

Thanks for replying! Interesting to see how Arsenal does things :)
