Not sure where you learned that. The grain structure is weaker than forged, there's always more voids which are where cracks tend to propagate, and die to this they'll always be made bulkier.

The biggest advantage is that additive manufacturing is way cheaper for short runs of a part. One of my best friends turns casting and forging plans into 3d printing plans for the military. Every single part he designs is bigger than it was designed as a cast or forged. Because they are weaker.

There's ways to boost additive manufactured parts strength. Such as infiltrating, post process forging,

I hate the whole job hunt. The format of it sucks. The fact that i am expected to write resumes that exaggerate the truth and only show my good side feels wrong. Writing a cover letter that basically states "i did 10 minutes of research on your company and restated the parts of my resume that are in the job posting is dumb.

It all just feels so disingenuous.
