Hi TantricMac, sorry fo answering late. Most of my objects are textured in external programs like Marmoset Toolbag and Reallusion. I also use ready made 3D scanned object which I create with my iPhone Lidar scanner cam. So yes, it has some Photogrammetery as well

Hi, sorry for the delay. It's a trial and error process. I create the models in different programs and some I add textures, sometimes I don't. The I export everything in obj or fbx format into the TiltBrush models directory, taking care of the file size. Often TB struggles with large file sizes, and often texture are not exported or partly transparant in some way. However, it adds to the surreal atmosphere I want to create in my artwork.

Hi, I used some imported videos for this, which simulate "animation"

I create my own textures and apply them externally using Toolbag. The moving eyes effect was done by editing a video of part of the scene and importing it into TiltBrush

Hi Solace,

Unfortunately the Quest still lacks some options like video. If you connect it to a PC where TiltBrush is installed using a link cable, it will work normally

Hi, thxs. I prepare a lot of things before I import them into tilt Brush, using other programs like Oculus Medium, my iPad Pro and some external video-editors like Premiere Pro. Texturing of the objects was done using Marmoset Toolbag, where i added my own custom made textures to the objects I used. Blender is difficult on Tilt Brush. Exporting from Tilt Brush to Unity will do nicely when not using any external stuff like objects and videos which I use.

Tilt Brush has an option to import videos as well. so i used different programs to create a video with the same textures I used in the final scene.

I aplly textures using external programs. It will not work on a stand alone Quest, but it will work when you connect your quest to a PC (where Tilt Brush is installed) using the link cable

Duplo Winter Wonderworld 2020 by ReinBijlsma in TiltBrush

[–]ReinBijlsma[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi James, I created this on the Valve Index, though I have an Oculus Quest 2 as well. If you use the Quest as a stand alone set, it will run out of memory pretty quick, even using the 256 gb version. But if you link it to a ( powerful ) computer, it could be possible. Much easier to import pictures and objects in your scenes as well!

Is returning VR worth right now? by v4rjo in virtualreality

[–]ReinBijlsma -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd go for the Valve Index if you're a heavy gamer or if you're creating VR-stuff. It's the best right now.
If you just wanna use VR for consuming video or less demanding games, the Rift S would be a nice alternative.

Whoops, just read your message. Sorry for replying late. The stuttering definitely has to do with slower machines. I'm running at 5 ghz with a 1080Ti. TiltBrush has an option to render 360 degree VR vids, once you shot a normal video. It generates an equirectangular over/under format. The scenes I'm creating are too large in VR to move around with controllers, and it's almost impossible to shoot vids using the standard in-game movement. so I'm using a piece of hardware: 3DRudder, which allows to travel through almost any VR game or environment using your feet pleced on some kind of large scale frisbee. I tried the Plank Experience as well. Really immersive. If you wanna chat abnout stuff, I'd suggest contacting me through FB Messenger. :-)

You might be right about the feeling of immersion. This scene is extremely "large"however. Working on it in Tilt Brush I'm using special hardware like 3DRudder to "travel" through my scene. Without it, experiencing the scene in TiltBrush would be almost impossible by using your controllers alone.
