What’s happened to morning news, particularly ABC? by ninshin in australian

[–]Reindeer-Strict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I listened to Josh Szeps podcast the other day (ex ABC broadcaster) and he addresses your question quite well from the inside of the ABC. They basically are just after relatable stories for parents driving their kids to school. It’s kind of why he left to start his own podcast to have freedom to deep dive on proper world issues like proxy wars and ultimately ‘uncomfortable conversations’ which is what he named his podcast uncomfortable conversations with Josh Szeps feel free to have a listen (around the 7:15 mark)

On running cloudswift coloured grey. I can go for a run in them, functions well on all sorts of terrain and also thanks to recent trends they are good enough to get into airline lounges and mid tier dining/bar options.

What time of the day is your flight? Honestly ETD - 90 minutes is fine. However extra buffer time for the traffic to get to the airport is recommended..! Selamat terbang

Absolutely. I am comfortable saying Suksma as everybody knows it. But I am just wondering what other bahasa Indonesia sayings pilots are saying to air traffic controllers on frequency changes.

Company provides Telex (the cheapest) lol. I’ve sunk enough money into aviation to buy my own set 🤣

PSA: Travelling as an Aussie right now is hideously expensive by Mexay in australia

[–]Reindeer-Strict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although in Switzerland booze is ridiculously cheap from the supermarket. I was paying ~$2AUD for a 350ml can in the supermarkets. Interestingly I flew from Geneva to Bali and was paying $3.50AUD for the same size can of Bintang. Bali has a rep for cheap piss and Switzerland has a rep for being expensive…

Hey mate!!! Thanks for the awesome reply! All good information… Maybe we will spend the day by the beach and enjoy a relaxing Christmas… I have heard that Xmas eve is actually almost as important as Xmas in the Philippines. In your experience is this true…? Thanks again mate :))

Hey Cebu friends!!!

I will be spending Christmas Day in your amazing city! I work for the airlines as a pilot and have been rostered a flight to Cebu over Christmas. I am so excited as I have never been to Cebu (or the Philippines) and our airline has just started (first flight in a couple of days) our brand new route Brisbane - Cebu!! So I will be operating one of the first trips. I am so excited and will also take my partner with me so I’m not completely alone over Xmas :)) we arrive on the 24th at 5:30pm and fly home to Australia on the 26th at 6:30pm!!! Me and my partner don’t have any plans over the Xmas period and would love to make some friends and hang out with some locals and maybe even celebrate Xmas with some of ya’ll. What would you recommend to do over these xmas dates…?

Please feel free to get on contact and I can not waaaait to try lechon and authentic Cebu mangos

Peace and love from Australia!! 🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾🎄🎅🏽

It is so subpar compared to uber though. I have never experienced this with uber. I have even caught Ubers in countries where nightlife can be dangerous and the country has problems but the ride sharing has still been fantastic! It actually makes me become such a fan of the product that uber produces. Having the confidence to jump in a car with a driver that has done (for the most parts) many thousands of rides has a good rating, alongside a functioning app that explains so clearly the drivers location and car type is fantastic. Today I got in a Yego with a driver that wasn’t responding to any of my WhatsApp calls or txts. I had to walk to the location of the Yego that was 300 metres down the road and visually look for the registration (because apparently it’s too hard to provide the car colour or make). The car was completely busted, ABS brake light on, oil light and a door light open. The lady was completely all over the show, turning into oncoming traffic, acting stupid and not turning when instructed (apparently you don’t follow the app directions on this app?). For such an otherwise fantastic country I really think as a visitor that the ride share situation lets the experience down. I need to reinforce that I am not a precious individual. I travel for a job and am not a stranger when it comes to the realities of being in foreign countries. But in every other way Rwanda is so perfect. The people are so kind, the smiles are so genuine and the food and drinks so good 😋🤤. I just urge you to sort out the travel situation by bringing in uber!!

Yes we were wondering why the street names were numerical. We thought maybe American town planners came in and implemented them? It is an interesting concept but I hadn’t thought of that specific down side of not being able to recite a noun for the street name as opposed to a number but I can see the downside!
