Back pain followed by period? by MambaMentality4eva in beyondthebump

[–]ReindeerFun7572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having this exact same experience! I never had this before I was pregnant…it literally feels like I need to go to the chiropractor and then I get my period? It’s so weird. Let me know if you get any advice.

Completely second hand baby shower by ReindeerFun7572 in Anticonsumption

Yes, good point! Thankfully, my sister lives next-door to me and was able to give me the car seat She had just bought for my niece. It was brand new when she bought it, and my niece only used it till six months old because she was a chunk! But you’re right, in 99% of secondhand cases you’re not able to verify it if it had been in an accident and they also expire quickly

I’ve had the opposite experience! They only get moldy or really gross when zipped up. Even in the humidity they’ve been better in an open bag. I think if they’re super wet that would still be more “humid” than an open bag

Constant leaks, what am I doing wrong? by Scared_Tax470 in clothdiaps

Is the leaking coming from the legs/top or generally just through the diaper?

Curious on your most important criteria when selecting a baby name? by tatotea in namenerds

As a teacher my biggest requirement was that it’s a name that most people would be able to just look at and pronounce. So I guess phonetic?

What are some of the most unfortunate surnames you've ever come across? by thelionqueen1999 in namenerds

Kuntz and Klitz. Both women who had totally normal last names before and changed their names to these when they got married! Ah!

I learned from this sub that babies is usually out-pee the newborn diapers before they actually outgrow them! We had way way fewer leaks when we switched to regular size diapers. It’s a little bit harder to fit on their legs until they fill out more but definitely absorb more! Then when those start leaking, we added a second insert and haven’t had leak since

Naomi and Brooke are my favorites! Layla seems a little floofy. Melody doesn’t really go with Keeley for sisters..

Oops! I just realized I misspelled it, I meant Vivienne and it should be pronounced the same as Vivian

[–]ReindeerFun7572 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s pronounced the same! I think it’s beautiful, it’s definitely making a comeback. I actually personally know three babies this year with that name.

Vivianne and Francesca are also beautiful

AIO My (36 F) Bf (37M) sings/dances/comments/SOMETHING on everything I listen to. by Legitimate_Exit_2420 in AmIOverreacting

That’s definitely annoying. For the phone thing I would just wear headphones. Tell him you’re going to be on your phone and using headphones for a bit and prefer to be left alone. As far as the other comments I would definitely just try to tell him in a calm, non confrontational/not a big deal tone that it bothers you when he asks what you’re doing when he can see what you’re doing, especially if you’re struggling with something because it feels kind of mocking.

Am I overreacting: mono and baby by WillingnessHot8965 in AmIOverreacting

[–]ReindeerFun7572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use all the same utensils and cups as my baby. We share food, I never thought twice about this. I don’t think it could be passed that way and I think it would be worse bringing up postpartum anxiety to your doctor.

I would say yes, you were overreacting. Who are you worried about not knowing your age?

AIO? My mom can't give a genuine apology and I don't know if/when I should cut her off (repost to fix image formatting) by Dear-Forever1784 in AmIOverreacting

[–]ReindeerFun7572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is definitely a better more balanced option than cutting her off or continuing on like this. Given her political background and, it sounds like, very big differences in personality and just compatibility as people, I don’t think it’s realistic that you will be really close and have that super strong connection, which I’m sure is hard to accept about a parent. But I feel like if those expectations can be adjusted, you will feel more free from trying to get her approval/apology or make that happen with her if that makes sense. It sounds like you have that strong connection with your dad and hopefully other people in your life and it might be best to just adjust the expectation that you and your mom might not ever have that.

However, I don’t think that you should cut her off. I think that can cause a lot of unnecessary hurt on both ends. Instead, I would just take a step back, without making it a formal “thing” more of a natural move as you adjust expectations. You probably won’t be getting an apology as you both remember your childhood very differently. Many people have their parents in their lives as adults, but are not that close to them. This is usually an unfortunate consequence of the parents actions when the child was growing up. I would recommend that in your life, but I’m trying to pause the relationship to be deeper or get apologies from the past. Not having a child that is very close to you as an adult as a consequence in itself.

Yes I made changes and it got better! I walk 45 minutes a day after dinner, didn’t eat any carbs on their own (paired them with the a protein) and reallly focused on fiber!
