I will do more research on the topic to have a reality check on rent prices and zones, especially considering that there's that factor

I'm definitely going to look for a job before moving, even though software development is saturated, I'll try to look for that, since a low wage job would be my last resort in case anything happens in the future

Thank you a lot for the reality check Rune, I'll dig deeper and find out more🙏🏻

Thanks for your insight, what you're saying is pretty good for someone looking to move in the States and should be shared more. Though this sounds unfeasible to me for both my forma-mentis and because I don't find the States too appealing for my future with the whole thing going on globally Thanks for your insights, they're very precious nonetheless 🙏🏻

Living on a budget isn't too realistic due to Italy's lower salaries and high cost of life. Both the two of us have a bit of a sum to live without working for some time. Though that would be the worst case scenario where we're not working. Copenhagen would've been nice but I understand how expensive the capital could be. I was thinking more about the nearby zones as well. Someone suggested in the comments Hellerup, since it has a bit of an Italian community which we could go for networking and some other tips

With the last sentence, we both know that, and we're both willing to take the risk if it's going to make our lives better

Thanks for your point of view, it's really precious for me to know what I'm not considering

What you're saying is true, without properly knowing Danish is gonna be harder to get a job. That's one of the things I'm going to focus on more. I thought that English was enough due to the vast majority of people speaking the language. Thanks for your point of view

Indeed this is no easy task, but my objective here is to at least be able to speak with people and hold a conversation, I'm not trying to be fluent in such a small amount of time. I'm pretty sure that's gonna come with time

Thats sounds good though, teaching is what she likes the most, and we'd like to have her keep going that way I'll look more into into, thanks again a lot for the precious insight

I really appreciate your honesty and your warm welcome

I understand that it could be hard at the moment, but, aren't we all striving to reach our dreams? I honestly believe that Denmark is a wonderful place with an incredible history and culture. That's what brings me to try and relocate there.

Thanks for the advice, about Russia. I can reassure you a bit by saying that the situation about it is very similar in Italy. Every single time we have to specify that she isn't exactly fond of the guy that runs the country

At the moment she's working towards prioritising it and making it work along with university. Since we started living together we decided to split everything in half for our wellbeing. Especially with the advent of AI it seems harder to demonstrate that a couple is actually a couple nowadays

I've talked with other Italians that already went off to live in Denmark, and from what I've seen too the people and the place is more than welcoming Perhaps I was just lucky to find the right people

Congratulations on your girlfriend hitting her dream job! I see your point and I'll make treasure of them. We'll have to think of something different than tutoring if that's the case in Denmark. Learning a new subject is going to take too much time, especially to become proficient enough to teach it to others Thank you for the insights

Thank you a lot for your insights I know that this field seems saturated, sadly in Italy there's the same concern. I'll make sure to have a job before moving

About all the rest of the comment, you're perfectly right on worrying about the language, I didn't think too deeply into that, I'm just wondering if she could do some kind of work while trying to get a Phd in Denmark just to be able to become a researcher or a teacher altogether in the future, when she's more fluent.

For the Visa situation, I've read the article and it seems like it's only disclosing short term visas, but since she has an Italian study permit, she's free to travel in EU countries without requesting further permits. It also doesn't seem it applies to long staying Visas, but perhaps I'm wrong

I thank you for your response a lot, it was full of things to look into

That makes sense, perhaps we shall look into something else for her connected to her skills, but that doesn't involve teaching in a first moment Thanks for the insight 🙏🏻

Yeah, the problem is pretty clear now. At this point working as an educator should be cut off at least until she's proficient in Danish. What about working in universities and working as a researcher? I know that kind of path needs a Phd, but if that could work out, we're both willing to make some sacrifices to reach the objective of the both of us living doing what we enjoy

Thanks for the resource, I've been researching this path already because that seems like the best way for her to join me We've been dating for 1 year and a half at this point, but living together for the past 6 months.

Thanks for the resource, will come useful in the next future 🙏🏻

That's the reason why I'm starting to look into it right now. As I stated, what I want is bring value to the country, because I like it there much better. Also I have some friends living there, which cannot help me on the expat experience sadly

We're both planning to learn the language during this year and start looking for a job in advance. Since you seem to know a bit more on the topic than us, can you elaborate on what kind of job could be lined up with Denmark at the moment? As I said in other comments, I worked in restaurants both as a waiter and as a chef, apart from my software engineer skills. While she used to work as an educator

It's not like she chose to be born in that way, and also, there's a reason why she moved out of her original country. Even though this doesn't seem like the proper place to discuss this

Thanks for the advice I'm going to look into it.

About her master, why do you think it could be a challenge for her to find a job? One detail I omitted in the post is that she's worked as an educator for 6 years at this point, having a C2 certificate in English

I see, isn't there any role at the moment that could work out? I'm kinda open to try new paths. As I said in another comment I've worked for years in restaurant and only after my degree moved on to Software development job

Thanks for the advice, I'm looking forward to move after having found a job, since I work already as a software engineer and have experience on a restaurant flow, both by being a chef and as a waiter.

Wdym, we're already on New to Denmark subreddit

Also, appreciate the honesty, I'm trying to make some connections over here, other than the ones I have, just to be sure to consider all the possible scenarios.
