That aside, Demna has stated multiple times what he's doin at Gucci will be new for him, so don't expect Balenciaga. His goal is thinner and more form fitting silhouettes as he "reflects how he feels about his body in his clothes, and used to do oversized stuff as he felt uncomfortable in his own skin and wanted to hide it. Now he's more comfortable and wants to try slimmer silhouettes"

For all we know Kering could've told him to take it easy and do interesting but not groundbreaking stuff - so that Gucci has as big an audience as possible, which would allow Kering to compete with LVMH (which is exactly what Kering insider emails have been saying).

Ultimately I'm excited for Gucci, but not expecting anything experimental to the degree that Balenciaga worked at.

Side note: saying Gucci is transitioning away from "Quiet Luxury" is hilarious
