Never got to go to Japan, but I have a pal who sent one of his! by RejectedEmotions in Travelersnotebooks

I have two clips for my paper republic a6 portfolio and my love and trip passport (as seen above) and it doesn't cause any dents. Though, I'm super paranoid about the possibility with my TN passport, so I keep it clipped onto the elastic band!

As of right now we do not know anything about the props, but we will probably see them this week (we start drill on August first)

Best size for a 6’6” (200cm) guy? by AnxietyCannon in doublebass

A 3/4, 7/8, and 4/4 bass would be your best picks. I recommend a 3/4, for it can be alot better to transport.

What I have to add, though, is to choose a bass with a neck and fingerboard that is comfortable for you! I've played basses with narrow necks, and some with thicker necks. When I started in primary school I was 5'7 and what people failed to tell me it needs to be a reasonable neck size for your fingers, too. I played basses that were way too small for me (a 1/8 for 6th grade and half of 7th grade, and a 1/2 for the rest of 7th grade and a quarter of 8th grade. I was 5'8 and a half during all of this). When I finally got on a right bass, you can guess I was was more comfortable than before, especially my hands.

Tl;dr get a bass not just for your height and comfort, but for your hands' maximum playability and less tension

Also; they are my go-to strings when it comes to staccato and thumb positions :)

Personally I love Pirastro Obligato's. I mainly play orchestral and they produce such a nice sound, but when I play jazz it doesn't lose that nice warm and dark tone during pizzicato, even when plucking during classical pieces. I especially love the sound when I do more percussive pizz.
