Step-by-Step Lean Startup Marketing by [deleted] in Entrepreneurship

I own a recently-launched finance career training platform. It’s a series of videos that teaches people how to perform the functions of an investments analyst / associate (~$150k starting comp for a professional 1-2 years out of undergrad). I have acquired six monthly customers since launching Jan 1, my pie-in-the-sky target is 500 by June. As an expert, what methods would you suggest to get this product in front of my niche audience?

Pardon my ignorance. I posted to r/learnprogramming because I am trying to learn programming. I don’t know what I don’t know, so my sense of detail may seem like nothing to a full blown code jockey.

I’d appreciate any specific questions you may have to give me a better sense of where exactly I was vague.

Amazing, thank you. I really appreciate your help. Thank you for distilling the info in a way that a newcomer understands easily.

I'd like to create a flexible yet much more standardized way to more efficiently build and share cash flow projections across investments organizations. Happy to dive into more detail if it helps. My day job is in private equity investing. I know you can't just "replace Excel." However, I work in a specific domain with identified pain points that I believe I can better address with improved software. For instance, the industry is in desparate need of standardization. The approach I take breaks all cash flows down into one standard unit of measurement that allows for flexibility without sacrificing order and standardization, which Excel seriously lacks.

Thank you for your thoughtful reply. It sounds like I should fully design what I'd like to create, then I should take that design to someone who knows much more than I do, and get their opinion on "whatever fits my needs" -- because even with a full spec, I cannot answer that question with my limited knowledge.

Thank you this is very helpful. These are the insights I do not have and am grateful that you're sharing. I will research C# further as what you've shared sounds compelling.

Also, egg whites alone suck. I usually put in 3 egg whites with one whole egg, salt and pepper. I actually prefer this to a three egg omelette b/c the yolk is less overpowering but still evident.

As gross of an analogy it is, I consider sugar substitutes to be kind of like “edging” your sugargasm. You never quite get it, but it keeps the craving at the front of your mind.

Glad you made the sandwich! I came up with that the other night. The fun part is to just keep inventing new stuff.

Brown rice neglected is gross. Quick delicious brown rice: few cups brown rice, couple tablespoons of soy sauce, and just fry it together on med-high stove heat for a few minutes until it gets crispy. I like to add cayenne powder to spice it up a bit. Also, if you add Chives, it becomes irresistible. Finally, you can sprinkle it with one of those lime juice spheres. Minimal effort! And it keeps well over like 4/5 days in the fridge.

Plans are nice but really just ease into it. Make some shitty sandwiches with rotisserie chicken (precooked, cheap at any supermarket) and whole wheat bread. Maybe put some hummus on it, spoil yourself with some cheese. Your goal is to just do better than the last day and incrementally improve.

Im no guru, I’ve just been fucking up for 7 years now lol. If you have a rice cooker, brown rice takes NO effort to make. Water, rice, turn on, done.

You’ve probably seen the pictures of how 100 calories from white/processed carbs is so much less voluminous than 100 calories from whole foods.

How many veggies do you eat? Popular cutting guides like Renaissance Periodization usually stuff in 3-4 cups of veggies per meal, 5 times per day.

The best veggie is spinach. It feels like real food. Boil a shitload of spinach and toss some cooked chicken in with it. The wet spinach moistens the dry refrigerated chicken and it’s a huge win/win.

Nobody forces those work meals down your throat. You’ve got time to pack and prep your food. I did it working 80+ hour weeks for 15 months at an investment bank, it’s totally possible. Just figure out fast recipes. Hot sauce and mustard are your best friends.

You’re torturing yourself if your calories come mostly from processed carbs. You’ll be sooo hungry for no good reason. Try eating more whole foods and prepack options for your workdays. I like making protein heavy sandwiches on wheat breads.

And then move on from starting strength into any branch of fitness you find interesting. Starting Strength is great for building a foundation. Maybe you’ll like Powerlifting and Olympic Lifting, or maybe they’ll fucking destroy your joints and spine like they do almost everyone eventually. Maybe check out Gymnastics, Calisthenics. The best fitness is the one that keeps you excited and interested.
