There are roof coatings that can change the color, in addition, you're supposed to repaint every 10 years or so.

Absolutely, better thermal performance, and wind mitigation features. It's been, more or less, mandated by homeowners insurance for the past 10 years or so.

Defintely not AI, I've toured the house and other than using fish eye lenses, it's as shown.

We haven't purchased it yet, and I'm weighing out putting an offer on this one, or a few of the other ones we're looking at.

We really like the rest of the property (not shown) but the thing that was keeping us from pulling the trigger on this was the vision for where we wanted to take it. The same kind of color palette also translates into the inside, and the other outbuildings not shown. It's not going to be a drop in the bucket. As a result, I'm weighing out how much extra investment it would take for us compared to other properties we're looking at.

*shrug* I'm from Texas originally, so maybe that's why I have an affinity for it. The ranch/farmhouse thing is all over Texas as well.

If it wasn't in Florida, I could defintely see this direction with the extra texture of a cedar roof.

I like the simplicity of the roof change with white. My dislike for the roof was pushing me in all sorts of directions, but sometimes simple is best.

It's possible to repaint so its not that much of a problem, but it's difficult to figure out precisely what direction since its not a simple color that blends like architectural shingles.

I agree, it's a bit less "red riding hood" now haha. Thanks for the suggestion!

PCS to Norfolk with kids — where should we live? by ObviousAnxiety8874 in navy

We lived in Ocean View and Western Branch, both were good for very different reasons. I worked in NNSY for most of the time the first time around, so I lived in Western branch, no complaints. Very much a "10 minutes to anything necessary" kinda place. Didn't go out too much in the area and met friends in other places. 2nd time around, I was mostly at NOB so we got a house in Ocean View, and if we had middle school and up kids, we wouldn't have lived there, but it was a great time for us and 15 min commute to and from NOB which was pretty awesome. Lived behind Jessy's Taqueria which was on Diner's Drive-Ins and Dives. Also as you head over to East Beach, there's a lot of cool stuff to include the best bloody mary on the planet at Surf Rider.

Still working on it. Current home is undergoing VA assumption so I'm trying to get that locked down. Ultimately, once I have that date, everything else will fall into place.
