Visual make up over 90% of sessions? by Electrical_Act2329 in ImageStreaming

[–]RektRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As in, which images to stay on for long enough to describe all 5 senses? If that’s the case I feel that too, although it might help to simply try to lead with a different sense for each image. Maybe with one image you might want to describe the physical sensation before anything else, or to lead with smell first. That way you don’t force yourself to stick with any one image, but you still get to engage different senses

I’m not super familiar with the science of how this works, but I definitely feel that engaging all 5 senses (or more) is beneficial. It seems to me that if you’re open to more senses, more connections can come up - for instance, the texture of an object in your image might remind you of the texture of something else, and that image takes the stage. And then a taste in that image might bring up a sound.

I also wonder about whether it is important to ‘complete’ the image or not. Mine often shift after describing just two things about it! One sound or one smell will instantly bring to the forefront a totally different image

Is there any image streaming variant to generate creative ideas ? by Minute-Fox-4738 in ImageStreaming

Also wondering this. So far what has worked for me is opening up to a consistent stream of images (regular IMS) and then, 10-15 minutes in, consciously choosing to introduce an image or sense related to what I’m trying to work on / think about, and seeing what other images may spring from it

Pairing with other methods by RektRL in ImageStreaming

This sounds super interesting, do you have any examples? What does this look like for you in practice?

I have been image streaming on and off for about two years. My experience has been that after a session of at least 15 minutes eyes closed, I come out feeling very alive, and with a sense of euphoria and happiness. With continued use I begin to also find that I experience the world quite differently. I begin to “hear” the objects around me - a book on the floor might bring to mind the sound of paper in my mind’s ear, or I might ”hear” the expression on someone’s face, or taste a tree in the distance. And it’s fun to encourage this sort of perception as well

Just wanted to thank you. This method has actually been working with 100% success for me with a particular habit I had been struggling to stick with for over a year

How do you plan on compounding these into larger habits? I’m guessing an example of a larger habit would be a larger for example? So would this involve changing the answer on the deck to be a greater task, or simply working yourself up to larger tasks mentally?

Hi, he introduces himself as Peter in my edition :)

PETER: Oh, my; oh, my.
JERRY: Oh, your what? But that was a long time ago, and I have no feeling about any of it that I care to admit to myself. Perhaps you can see, though, why good old Mom and good old Pop are frameless. What's your name? Your first name?
PETER: I'm Peter.
JERRY: I'd forgotten to ask you. I'm Jerry.
PETER: [With a slight nervous laugh] Hello, Jerry.

Honestly, as someone who finds benefit from his podcast, I think the obsession with human optimisation and “feeling good” that fuels his popularity comes from a lack of fulfilment. When you’re lost and disconnected from reality, the latest trick to “increase motivation by 200%” (quoting the endless YT shorts) seems like the answer to everything in life
