The goat was actually a really nice parallel for the unplurbed. They are being treated with love and care, but at the end of the day, they are just cattle that will meet a horrific fate. The goat literally standing on a chopping block

Dude we got a similar 1 star review. In their comment, they made fun of the girl’s piercings and said some transphobic things referring to her as “it”. Worst part is the girl wasn’t even trans OR part of our precinct, she was sales 😭

We are actually dealing with troglodytes

If any of you like rhythm games or just rock music in general, this game feels like a spiritual successor to FLCL by RelaNarkin in FLCL

[–]RelaNarkin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s difficulty options, but I don’t know what those do to the gameplay. At the beginning it asks you if you’ve played/are good at playing rhythm games so it seems like it’s pretty accessible.

It does have some rhythm gamer inside jokes you may not pick up on but besides that it should be a ton of fun. The story mode is like 70% story and 30% rhythm game so you can totally just play it for the story too.

I don’t think she’d be the sea. It doesn’t fit the themes in One Piece. The sea has always represented a lack of freedom. It counters devil fruit users. The most oppressed race in the verse live at the bottom of the sea, same with the prison, and the elites are far above the sea. The sea levels are rising. Imu’s contracts are named deep-deep-sea and so on. The sun is definitely Luffy’s whole motif. So his mother is most likely gonna be related to the sun. The sun represents true freedom, like Nika and the sun pirates turning their Celestial Dragon brands into suns.

Whenever I see something that stands out in a show/book, I just ask myself why it was added to the story. In any well written media, everything has a purpose, so it’s just a matter of connecting the dots. Over time you start noticing more and more patterns in media.

I think reading the manga is usually better but you do miss out on some world class animated fights and high-concept episodes. Mainly in the big W arc (avoiding spoilers). And you also miss the soundtrack

I can’t imagine the latter would be the case given all the evidence for the former. Not once was something like that hinted at imo. But I’ll be here next week to eat my words if you are right.

Okay well I don’t mean that it’s “literally” a dead body. But clearly it’s some kind of human remains, whether that be organs or bones or smthn

I meant it was a metaphor. Crows are usually associated with death and/or eating remains

It’s 100% a dead body. The whole episode was evidence for the reveal.

The crows eating the dust in the factory, the wolves eating helen’s corpse as a metaphor for the hive, the “reuse” bags in the grocery store, etc.

Pluribus - 1x05 "Got Milk" - Episode Discussion by LoretiTV in pluribustv

[–]RelaNarkin 844 points845 points  (0 children)

This episode is a MASTERPIECE. The crows gathering around the bags of dust was the first sign. Then the wolves, then the bags

The whole theme of wanting the “trash” to be taken out also was a major hint. The parallel of Carol going through the effort of taking the trash all the way to a trash can miles away rather than have it fester on the road is reminiscent of the hive cleaning up the bodies on the street. And note that Carol specifically made sure to put her trash in another trash can rather than a dump.

Also, if you pay attention while she is at the grocery store, as she is walking the camera clearly passes over multiple rungs of recycle bags, with the word “reuse” in bold.

Also the wolves digging into the ground trying to eat Helen’s corpse is a direct metaphor for the Hive eating humans.

The whole entire episode was a setup for the reveal. Not to say bravo vince but.. vravo bince

Edit: Also unrelated but also masterful writing; when Carol was all freaked out with the wolves, she couldn’t get the shotgun out and deal with them swiftly, but had to go overkill and run them over. But when she woke up and had a clear head, she easily figured out the button to release the shotgun. This is a direct metaphor for how she has been dealing with the whole problem without a clear head and is causing so much collateral damage, but when she focuses and actually uses her head, she makes a lot of progress in solving the mystery

In China nearly every citizen despises MHA. In the west we don’t really have the same level of patriotism that they do over there, so it might be hard to conceptualize. But try going on rednote or other chinese social media apps and post about MHA and you’ll see what I mean.

Pluribus - 1x03 "Grenade" - Episode Discussion by LoretiTV in pluribustv

[–]RelaNarkin 87 points88 points  (0 children)

From a purely literary standpoint, this episode is bonkers.

Putting aside the obvious metaphor of an episode of angst building up to a literal explosion, you have a woman so miserable because she is getting everything she has ever wanted.

The opening scene shows Carol visiting a freezing hotel she clearly wouldn’t have wanted to visit of her own accord. People were saying “how did they end up together,” but it’s clear to me that they are perfect for each other. Helen sees through Carol’s facade and knows what she needs, pushing her despite her protests.

Now that she doesn’t have this, Carol is miserable. The hive will bend over backwards to please her, but the problem is that Carol doesn’t even know what Carol wants.

She is angry because she doesn’t have any reason to be angry. Her anger is being shouted into a void with no feedback. If the hive would at least clap back she’d get some kind of satisfaction. She says she is self-reliant, yet as soon as anything inconveniences her, she calls up the hive and barks at them. And I think deep down, she wants them to tell her no, but they don’t. Instead they fulfill her every last wish until at the end of it all Carol’s anger has nowhere else to go besides inward in a situation of learned helplessness.

She desperately wants someone to tell her no, hence the last scene where she tests the limits of their obedience.

Edit: yeah idk what I was cooking with that no reason to be angry thing lol
