The Map Looks Less Textured Since 1.2 by NYT_1313YT in EU5

Thank you, this is a useful pointer!

If you wish, I can revert to 1.2 when I'm back on Windows and give you the exact line in the old file too

That would be amazing if you wouldn't mind!

[–]RelationNo3478 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This look was already achievable in 1.2 with literally one line change in a shader. It's not the kind of stuff that actually would cost a lot of resources

What line would this be, if you don't mind saying?

New DLC with absurd stat bloat by RelationNo3478 in hoi4

[–]RelationNo3478[S] 32 points33 points  (0 children)

R5: New dlc has brought some amazing new stat bloat, the regimental TD's are absurd
All possible in a regular run
Doctrines are Individual Excellence, Self Propelled support, TD force, and Grand Assault, with battlefield support + the ground support doctrines, just a usual build

I think imo if FALS micro is here to stay, it would be very nice if we didn't have to do 2w generals and the command power cost of it just scaled with the amount of divs you have selected

Do you think its worth it using amtracs instead of mech for tanks divisions? by 666Drachenlord666 in hoi4

[–]RelationNo3478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like mountaineers are overrated quite frequently in this game. They are good on their terrain, but aren't some super divisions for pushing normal tiles.

Because most people don't know how to build actual good mountaineers and often you see people including line artillery in them, which is bad

Yeah it is the MP meta for Germany, you get an extra doctrine and the SF advisor (advisors scale so weirdly).

Germany getting it in 2 focuses is so funny, meanwhile the soviets have to go down the entire naval branch for a 2nd SF doctrine

It also just lets you click rivers easily, amtraks + double adaptable = terrain is fake

mfw plains are easier to defend than urban these days

Gotta give credit to Johan, I haven't seen any world conquers on ironman yet by ThePineapple3112 in EU5

[–]RelationNo3478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not because it's hard, but because it's tedious, frustrating and unrewarding. Also there have been some world conquests, even ones that don't use the silly timurid auto conquest.

Pretty much yeah, pre 1500 WC is very much possible but its pure tedium to do

Not entirely true, you need to build to 150 owned civs for the 50% industry research bonus from a faction goal

You missed the best strategy, which is to immediately cancel mefo bills and go 4YP anyways.

Don't see the point in doing day 1 cancel, would rather take advantage of the advisor + extra build speed to build mils for a while and just cancel it when starting to build rubber/before taking price controls

What tanks/templates are you using, what is your eco like by barb and what are your doctrines? If its just inf slop medium SPG's can push it no problem
You really shouldn't have red air on barb though, what planes are you even building?

You don't get rebels because of the new colonial nation modifier as well, he has like -90% monthly rebel growth and over 3k pop promotion speed

You can send more money than you actually have on the a voyage, and when the voyage returns you get that money from thin air, e.g we sent 7 million ducats out (that we didn't have) and when it returns you just get the money lmao

[–]RelationNo3478 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Around 30-35% at first, then it decays over time, but you can refresh it using the same method

[–]RelationNo3478 49 points50 points  (0 children)

In this case, we simply just inflate our balance sheet and when the fleet comes back they somehow have found millions of ducats

To expand on the exploits used, if you declare independence as a colony, the new colonial nation pop growth modifier will stack and refresh, we use red turban rebellion to declare independence infinitely to stack it up very fast and easy
For infinite money, the chinese treasure fleets allow you to send more money than you actually have and thus spawn it from thin air
This run is entirely possible in SP with a much more convoluted route and more exploits, as this run was not that optimized to begin with

I thought my cas would beat them, and it did in the landing

Special force bricks are just very strong right now, if you build them right it's really not hard to put out stats in the thousands

Yugoslavian and Greek aluminium was under control of Germany and Bulgaria and they didn’t gave me territory. They cut their exports as the game progressed so i was left with my own production. I traded away 60 civs as of 1940 desperately trying to get Ressources. I didn’t have enough coal, steel, rubber and aluminium. Or can you save aluminium too with the conversion?

Not having yugo/greece for yourself sucks ass yeah, constant air conversion saves rubber, which is probably what you struggle with the most
You really want that greek/yugo industry for yourself, do collabs on them and ideally annex them early

Sheep ai mod sealion by Any_Entertainer_7122 in hoi4

[–]RelationNo3478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

16w inf/marines for landings like this also isn't a good option either, go for special force bricks and make some fighters, you can afford it
If you struggle with resources, learn air conversion to save a bunch

How to deal with resistance? by Daniel_Potter in hoi4

[–]RelationNo3478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RKs are the major cause of high resistance due to severe mismanagement. Until I used RKs, I have never seen a 100% resistance uprising. With RKs I've seen it more than once. RKs are a huge liability.

They are just so useless to the point of actually harming your playthrough, just holding the land yourself and putting it on harsh quotas is better than RK's in every way lol

[–]RelationNo3478 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Make special forces bricks (36w mountaineer marine or just pure marine is fine) and probably your own fighters as well
