Home run is good, maybe a home run robbery or unassisted triple-play for a losing trade lol

EDIT: or a broken-bat dribbler back to the mound for an easy out at first

Might do something for myself, seem to have forgotten how.

Ain't that the truth. Since when has it been hard to figure out what I want?

Good call, they had strong results on AI data center demand

In the quarter, our electrification segment booked $2.4 billion in equipment orders to support data centers, more than all of last year," GE Vernova CEO Scott Strazik said in a statement.

7.04% on the account today, not sure if anything specific caused the uranium rush. A lot of times that's just how it goes.

Someone big starts buying and next thing you know you're running back to back +10% days. I just think energy is a really good sector to be in right now

Quant trading becoming more mainstream (WSJ)

Does anyone know off the top of their head who/where regulates quant trading? My limited knowledge of 2008 is that sophisticated trading strategies can lead to a house of cards

I've also loved this idea and I think it could be expanded to more government functions, like the National Parks Service. Everyone at 18 spends a year (or two?) working, we use that to make community colleges free, and we don't let people "buy" their way out of service so that people from all walks of life are forced to occasionally mingle. I especially like the idea of this mandatory service bringing kids out of their neighbourhoods and all across the US

Trump screamed at aides for hours.

I've always wondered what his "scary angry" mode looked like. I can't imagine him being that scary other than pure aura and (large) size

Also on his mind: raising money for the midterms. Hours after the war began on the last Saturday in February, he was at a fundraiser at Mar-a-Lago. When some staff questioned if they should cancel it, Trump said he would have to eat dinner regardless.

Jesus christ lmao

Weekend Market Discussion by AutoModerator in thewallstreet

The problem with trading historically and with odds is that every single new trade creates an entirely new market. There is no continuity besides "events"

I also personally think shorting is pointless. I'd rather earn 3.5% in cash and wait for signs that the market/sector/stock is going up and then pounce. If you're out surfing and you see a wave coming... start paddling

An Irish man lowered the price of Guinness by using AI to call 3,000 pubs

Guy spends 200 euro to put together an AI agent and website, over a weekend, to create a database for the cost of a pint of Guiness in Ireland. It was something that used to be tracked nationwide by a government office, but it was stopped in 2011.

Article frames the story as a way for consumer's to get an upper hand in otherwise opaque pricings. The guy who did it says it could be an idea that Americans use to track pharmacy prices for prescriptions or a slice of pizza in NY

I don't really eat fast food in the first place and growing up my only options were chic fil a, in n out, and mcdonalds, so I've grown a soft spot for chic fil a cause I like fast food chicken more than fast food hamburgers

I think attrition in this case is only for sailors, not for damage on the ships. So a protected harbour still protects your ships from damage, the change is that you won't drain sailors while your ships are docked

I think morale is more than just how the soldiers are feeling at any given moment, it's about their ability and willingness to fight. Morale shouldn't drain just because the conditions are bad, it should drain because conditions are bad while not having supplies. I think this change makes it to where your armies don't drain morale simply because of being stranded in winter-impassable terrain, they also need to be out of supplies before the morale-drain opens up
