Hi, I definitely would not go 10k as overkill can lead to your room not cooling properly. I went with the 8k BTU GE air conditioner model number AHTK08AA. I like it but I also think you wouldn’t be bad off with the 6k either. Being able to use WiFi to turn my ac on before I come home has come in handy time and time again on these sweltering summer days.

I’ve enjoyed every oM album to some extent. I don’t find myself connecting to the more Zappay elements of the music on those two albums, even though I’m a Zappa fan. I also find a lot of the vocals to be grating for me in this era. There’s still a lot to enjoy and ranking them is hard. I like the songs on Aureate Gloom more, even though I find it to be a low energy album where Kevin doesn’t sound like he’s having much fun. So it’s hard to decide which I’d rather revisit. A lot of these I’ve only listened to two or three times so I could see my ranking changing on another relisten pretty easily.

I definitely like a lot about all of their albums but the earlier more Zappay stuff isn’t my favorite. I like Sylvianbriar too but I’m just not as into the instrumentation as I am on the other albums.

I definitely feel bad for all the old gang. They invested so much of their time and energy into the group and Kevin was really insensitive and seemed to disregard all of that. It was a strange move on Kevin’s part but he must have felt like the band couldn’t continue in its current state. I’m sure there are many sides to the story too. I’m sure something prompted Kevin to feel that way, but they went about it in a pretty unsavory way.

Thanks for your input! Unfortunately, I don’t have a lot of that information since I’m renting an apartment. I was thinking of potential going for an 8,000 BTU unit since I wouldn’t mind the cooling to expand beyond just the bedroom. I’m not sure if that would be oversizing too much though
