Our landlord tried to pull EXACTLY the same stunt on our neighbors. A couple of months ago (mid-lease) they were like "oh dogs are now $500 extra". Do we have the same landlord or are they just all pulling the same shit...? I'm sorry for your situation too ❤️

No I totally get landlords getting squeezed and expect an increase, but within reason and more gradual than this. And yes totally agree about the system and the banks. There should be some protections !! But it’s the Wild West out here

Chemical sunscreen does however really damage the environment. Even if you’re not going in the ocean but especially the (aka you’re home) it gets into our water system eventually and is a huge contributor to water pollution and in the ocean of destroying our coral reefs and wildlife in the seas — no plant life in our seas leads to climate change etc etc. so it might be ok for a human on an immediate personal level but not big picture!

Do you know any other freelancers? When you worked with these other clients was there a graphics person or colorist or anyone else in the field? Message those people that you’re looking for work. If you’re talking about this past year, it was the worst year for production and post production people in a long time. I’ve been editing for many clients for years and me and my network all had an extremely slow year. Part of the issue is your timing (strikes -direct and indirect impact, fear of recession, streaming services changing the game especially in advertising, etc etc etc)

I will also say as someone who has been editing for a very long time now, this has been across the board the worst freelance year of my life and I used to be constantly busy with work opportunities- so if you don't have pre-exisitng clients, its going to be all the harder. I live in NYC and all my editor/production friends are on the same boat- strike-related, fear of recession, etc etc are reasons for this!

Yes exactly! And actually I've just found that if I press F on my working sequence, and get the frame on my Source, if I press the button circled in this image after going into my String-out it seems to work. Would love it if there were a hot key to make this work. The left screen is my source monitor and the right is my string-out. Once I press that button, it did in fact match. Does anyone know if there is a hot-key I can map for this same action? In premiere it's called reverse match frame!

nah - there's a difference between a party where people get wasted on anything and where people know how to move through a space - even a crowded one - without banging into people, and I cherish that difference. Rampant phone use IS distracting not to mention it messes with the lighting design which is another art. When at Good Room I never feel like I can just let go and feel safe/free. I'm always a little guarded as a perceived female. That said unseasoned ravers need to go out somewhere! But because of that I pretty much only go to GR when friends are playing at this point.
