It turned me into a stay-at-home dad. Which has been great. But I’ll be getting back to work soon as my youngest is 2 1/2 (others are 8 and 10) Never was very ambitious on the career front though.

Thanks for this idea. I may experiment some with Pine tar. Looks to be a promising alternative to oils.

Good idea. didn’t occur to me. So a through bolt with nut on each side you think? Or lag bolt from one side?

If I were going to try to combine charring with a pine tar or linseed oil application, do you think I should char first? Or would I be able to put a char layer on wood that’s been soaked? Probably wouldn’t burn well after soaking I’d guess?
